Krokus – Hellraiser (Release Year – 2006)

Krokus - HellraisierIt is always great when you can pop a new CD into your player and know immediately that you are going to love it.

Krokus’ latest CD Hellraiser is one of those kind of CD’s.

The first song kicks it up, and the whole CD doesn’t let up. Suprisingly, this CD stands up to anything Krokus has ever done, and actually may a bit better from some of their older stuff.

This CD sounds like it could have been written in the middle of the 80’s hard rock scene, and personally, I could not be happier. It reminds me of AC/DC in a sense, but it is better than the last couple of discs those guys put out, and definitely more melodic.

Plenty of sing along lyrics, kick ass drums, and guitar solos in just about every song. This is what made 80 hard rock great, and Krokus Hellraiser one of the best new Hard Rock CD’s in 2006.

My current favorite tracks are Hellraiser, Too Wired to Sleep, Spirit of the Night, and Midnight Fantasy.

I love this Disc!! Absolutely great stuff!! Buy It!! COOL!

First time to your site and my friend, you nailed this CD. The other day I bought it thinking it was some older Krokus CD. Much to my surprise it was just recently released and I’m in total agreement that this think just kicks ass! The song Hellraiser sets the tone for this CD. You won’t be disappointed with it, every song just sounds superb. Pick it up at amazon.com for just a couple bucks.

hmmm…thats odd….I wonder why the track listing is different.

By the way, I noticed that your copy has a different tracklisting. Mine is the Locomotive Records release for the U.S. and it has a song called ‘Take My Love’ instead of ‘Walking In The Spirit’.

I love Krokus, been a fan since METAL RENDEZ-VOUS (1980). I just reviewed the album at my site today and, while I think the album is solid, I also think there is some filler towards the end. The first 8 songs are great but I think you could cut any 3 of the last 6 songs and have a more cohesive album. Take a listen to 2003’s ROCK THE BLOCK, it was excellent! If I had to rate this album, I’d give HELLRAISER and 8.
