Riot – Army of One
Mark Reale of Riot may be an Army of One. He is lone founding member of Riot, and has held this band together for over 30 years now.
Why Mark or Riot, hasn’t received more recognition in the music community is a mystery to me. With a style that falls between Joe Satriani, and Michael Schenker, you don’t have to listen to Army of One very long before you say “Wow”!
With that being said, how do the songs, on Army of One stack up. In my best Guiness Stout voice, they are “BRILLIANT!!“.
With Mark Reale’s and Mike Flyntz guitars and Mike DiMeo’s amazing vocals, I can’t imagine any hard rock or metal fan not enjoying this CD. This is melodic metal as good as you are going to find it anywhere! It is hard for me to pick out highlights on this disc, as I truly enjoy the whole thing. The Bonus Track of Road Racin’ Live, a track that was on the 1979 release Narita, is excellent. It sounds better now than it when it was first released. Johnny the Seal has something to smile out about when he hears this disc.
Check out this video of Reale and Flyntz dualing guitars….awesome!!

Yes, MARK REALE deserve much respect from all metalheads around the world. Again a great album by RIOT.
Riot is terribly underrated, the late 70s early 80s albums were among the best of their time.
