Kidd Blue – Big Trouble

Kidd Blue Big Trouble I heard a track or two from Kidd Blue on the Hairball John Radio show and decided to pick this disc up. This is an above average 80′s style Hard Rock CD that released in 2006.

I hear instances in Kidd Blue’s music, that reminds me of Ratt, XYZ, and some Dokken. Bobby Blue’s vocals fit this band’s music well. The band backing him up, Steve Barton on Guitars, Mark Dubin on drums, and Robert “Sox” Canchola on bass are as good as they come. The production on this disc could have been better, however the CD states that some of the tracks here are 16 years old and were converted from analog tape. I have still heard a lot of discs far worse than this one.

My current favorite tracks are Big Trouble, Restless Eyes, and Rocket Roulette. Fans of 80′s hard rock ought to give this a look. I enjoyed this disc, and I think you will too!

You can hear a few of their tracks on Kidd Blue’s myspace page, or check out the couple of tracks I posted below.

  1. The singer is a dick and in love with himself. They called him Kidd Blow in the bay area because he was a major cocaine dealer. The band was ok live, with solid guitars, but all of the bands in the area at the time hated to play with Bobby Blow since he was such an ego maniac.

  2. this cd kicks ass

  3. Those are some good songs!! And that is a great album!!
Kidd Blue rocks!! They are keeping this kind of music alive!!

  4. I realy like this album too and i alos bought it some time ago. Very very good hard rock/party metal.

  5. I bought this when it came out in early 2006 and it’s pretty good. As far as the sound quality, I thought it was fine. Keep in mind these were demo tracks and it was of that quality. I know the band originally signed a two album deal with Metal Mayhem. Both albums were to be of old material. So I don’t know if a second album is forthcoming or not.
