Black Label Society and Black Sabbath – Cover Art
There has been so much talk about the Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell tour as of late, I decided to go pick up a new copy of the classic Black Sabbath disc by the same name, Heaven and Hell. When looking at the cover art, I thought that the concept looked vaguely familiar, then I rem
embered the cover art on the new Black Label Society Disc – Shot to Hell. 3 Angels Playing Poker, 3 Nuns Playing Pool. Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not. Zakk Wylde’s playing is heavily influenced by Black Sabbath. I think his cover art may show a little of that influence as well.

I don’t know, man, I don’t think so. I think there’s been a lot of retro Catholic-bashing on metal albums now, given recent events. Mark has a CD by someone of the past that escapes me now and damn if that isn’t a blatant redo of the Holy Diver cover!
