Banshee – Race Against Time (Release Year 1989)
A CD that I still listen to regularly, and deserves mention is the full length 1989 debut, Race Against Time by Kansas City natives, Banshee.
Race Against Time is a metal masterpiece that very few hard rock fans should be without. Sadly, it has been out of print and is becoming harder to find, and has been capturing bigger bucks on EBay as of late.
Banshee’s music is heavy metal in the vein of Iron Maiden. Tommy Lee Flood’s vocals are kick ass, and the heavy guitars of Terry Dunn are second to none.
Why this band disappeared off the face of the earth remains a mystery, but music this good still deserves to be heard today.
There are quite a few stand outs on Race Against Time, including the anthemic, Shoot Through the Night, the killer All Alone, the excellent title track, Race Against Time, and the hard driving Call of the Wild, just to name a few.
If you can find this disc, I highly recommend picking it up! It will not disappoint you.
