The Covenant – DVD Review
In respect of Friday 13th, I decided to have a double creature feature at the Hard Rock Hideout, the first of which was the 2006 horror movie, The Covenant.
In doing a little bit of research on this flick, I found that it only did 37 million worldwide, which in Hollywood terms, means a flop.
The cast of the Covenant is a great looking bunch of girls and guys, but it basically a no name cast, so there was no star power to bring anyone in to the Theater.
I wont tell you too much about the story, other than this movie is about a Covenant of witches (or Warlocks) if you prefer. It is kind of like the Craft, and the Matrix, all rolled into one.
The ratings and reviews on this movie have been poor, but I honestly enjoyed this flick. The special effects were good, and the story was just solid enough to be likable. The horror elements are on the light side (this movie is PG-13), but this more about the story than being horrific.
The Covenant is brought to you by the producers of Underworld. If you enjoyed either of the Underworld flicks, you will probably like this on as well. It it certainly a movie that is worth a rental.
I have included the trailer below, in case you are interested.
