ANOTHER ANIMAL, the new band featuring GODSMACK members Shannon Larkin (drums), Robbie Merrill (bass) and Tony Rombola (guitar), alongside vocalist Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE, LIFE OF AGONY, MEDICATION) and DROPBOX guitarist Lee Richards, will release its long-awaited, self-titled debut album on October 2 via Republic/Universal. The CD’s first single, “Broken Again”, will go for radio adds on August 28 (postpone from the previously announced July 23).
Rombola recently told Launch that he and the other two GODSMACK members envisioned the project as a way to keep busy while vocalist Sully Erna was doing other things. “Sully, you know, he’s always doing other projects and other things,” Tony said. “He has books and he acts and he does a lot of things. He was considering taking a break after this last cycle. We figured it would be cool to have our own chance to express ourselves, you know, a little more. The GODSMACK records, we have our input, but overall Sully has the final say, so it was really satisfying for everyone in the band to get to really master their department.”
ANOTHER ANIMAL‘s debut disc features a number of songs written for the latest GODSMACK effort, “IV”, which didn’t make that CD’s final track listing.
Nikki Sixx is a man who knows addiction and what it can do to you. In his new book, The Heroin Diaries, Nikki shares his personal diary entries and with a little help from his friends, he adds a commentary that gives you the whole story of what was going on inside his head. Nikki has just released the January ‘87 excerpt from The Heroin Diaries. The January entry chronicles Nikki’s initial thoughts of Heroin and how “Only the dumb of the dumb would ever do it again.”
The January excerpt also previews a clip of the song, “Van Nuys,” from the accompanying soundtrack for The Heroin Diaries. Nikki and his new band Sixx:A.M. recorded a track for each chapter in the book.

On Live for Tomorrow, Marco handles the vocals and the bass, and has a pretty stellar lineup of axe slingers helping him out, including Richie Kotzen (Poison), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Ted Nugent, Steve Lukather (Toto). Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake) and Brian Tichy (Pride and Glory) handle the drumming.
Marco Mendoza has a vocal style that is a blend between David Coverdale and Paul Rodgers. This record is a bluesy, hard rocking affair that is going to appeal to a lot of rock fans. Marco’s influences don’t stray far from the bands that he has played in, and the guitar work on this disc is superb. Some of the stand out tracks are, I Want You, Let the Sun Shine, In My Face, Broken and the title Track Live For Tomorrow.
Don’t Miss This! You are going to love it!
