Records is pleased to announce all details of the release on “Sinister Mind” the new album from the Melodic Hard Rock
Masters JADED HEART !
The new album is the second
that was recorded after singer Michael Bormann’s
departure from the line-up. Swedish ex SCUDIERO shouter Johan Fahlberg proved to be a more than perfect
replacement and his live performances have conquered many new fans during the
recent JADED HEART European tours. The new album is also going to present a new
face, the guitarist Peter Ostros,
who has contributed strongly to the songwriting of
this kick-ass new release.
The sound on the album is
definitely heavier and more in your face, still keeping intact the elements that has created the recognizable and well-known
JADED HEART sound. Production was handled by some of the most requested guys in
the German Hard Rock
scene: Michael Voss
(Mad Max, Voices Of Rock), Chris Lausmann (ex-Bonfire, Voices Of Rock) and Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) and you can definitely hear a
sound that has the “million dollar bucks” trademark!

Nikki Sixx recently sat down with Spinner.com for the launch of the site’s new column Shout It Out Loud to discuss his challenge to the music and entertainment industries and depicts how they both habitually turn a blind eye when they become overbearing. In the Spinner article, Nikki questions why in any other profession your business associates will call attention to your short-comings and downfalls, but in the music industry everyone just enables your addictions. With six years of sobriety, Nikki is about to release his soundtrack and book for The Heroin Diaries on August 21st and September 18th respectively. Nikki has illustrated past reflections of his life in the soundtrack and the book, and is hoping to be a support pillar for the musicians of tomorrow with his knowledge of the music industry and substance abuse.

I hesitated picking this disc up for a long time, as I didn’t hear too many good things about it. When I stumbled upon a used copy of this disc recently, the completest in me had to have it. Luckily, I tracked a copy of this down for a mere $4.00, and at that price I couldn’t pass it up.
How do the songs stack up? Chances are you have heard Poison’s cover of the Who’s “Squeeze Box“on the new disc, Poison’d. I will pass on that cover every time. This disc is no Flesh and Blood. Not even close. There are however, a few decent songs on this disc. Get Ya Some, Devil Woman, Wasteland and Rockstar are ok, but not excellent songs.
The songs sung by CC Deville, “Emperor’s New Clothes“, “Livin’ In the Now” and “Home (C.C’s Story)” are particularly bad, and I can’t listen to them a second time. If CC wants to sing, I think he needs to do it in his side project, Samantha 7. His vocals are far too different from Bret’s, and contrast the other songs on Hollyweird greatly.
To me, Bret Michaels IS the voice of Poison, and it needs to stay that way. I love Poison, but I think they can do much better than this.

I have mixed feeling regarding Whipped. There are a few songs that are halfway decent, and others that I can hardly listen to. Your enjoyment of this disc, will likely depend on how big of a fan you are of this band.
The only thing that kept Nonstop to Nowhere from being a major hit is the song length (6:57). The video for this song, is much shorter, than the actual song length.
Body Thief and Jack the Bastard are full of sleaze and rock hard. Both of these songs are among my favorites on this disc.
If it wasn’t for Taime Downe’s vocals on Big Dictionary, I would actually think I was listening to a Dave Matthews song. The music style is very unlike anything I recall Faster Pussycat doing in the past. I have mixed feelings on this song. It almost seems out of place here.
I wish I could tell you that I didn’t like Maid in Wonderland, but the fact is, I do. The guitar riff is catchy, and the song is solid.
Friends kind of sounds like Faster Pussycat trying to pull off a Cinderella type ballad. I will pass on this one. Cinderella does these piano based numbers much better. Taime Downe is certainly no Tom Keifer.
Madam Ruby’s Love Boutique has grown on me somewhat, but the rest of the songs here, Cat Bash (silly), Loose Booty (This sounds like a song the Beastie Boys rejected), Mr.Lovedog (noisy), and Out with a Bang (more noise) fail to excite me.
I don’t know if it Taime Downe’s voice that annoys me so much, or the lack of strong songs on this disc, but I doubt that I will listen to Whipped very much in the future. It has a few decent moments, but this disc is far from being stellar.

For some reason, I feel compelled to keep buying the latest releases by Yngwie Malmsteen. Luckily, I scored this disc for a whopping $3.00, so I figured it was worth the risk, in case I didn’t enjoy it.
Attack features the former voice of Rainbow, Doogie White, former Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian, and longtime drummer Patrick Johansson.
As much as I try to get into Attack!!, I have trouble doing so. There is no question, that Yngwie Malmsteen is an extremely talented guitar player, but as a song writer, I think he may be a little lacking. Attack!! features plenty of neo-classical guitar noodling, and light speed double bass drumming, but the songs lack heart, or anything that make you want to listen to them a second time. Most of these songs are just a high speed jam sessions with lyrics thrown in for good measure.
If you heard one Malmsteen song on Attack!!, you have heard them all. If you have to listen to this disc, check out the track Stronghold. This song has some Dio era Black Sabbath like elements to it, and is this CD’s sole redeeming track.
This isn’t a disc that I will not be recommending to anyone, except the die hard fans of Yngwie. Now, I know why I was able to pick this up for $3.00.
