Heaven and Hell – Live from Radio City Music Hall (2007)

Heaven and HellOne of the better live CD’s to come out in quite a few years is Heaven and Hell’s (or Black Sabbath if you prefer) Live at Radio City Music Hall.

The live show was recorded on March 30th, 2007. Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio has never sounded better.

I saw the Cincinnati show of the first leg of the Heaven and Hell tour, and the set was quite similar to the one on this two disc set. I consider that concert one of the best that I have seen, and this CD is an excellent representation of the great show that I saw that night.

The main focus of this set are the three CD’s that Black Sabbath released with Ronnie James Dio: Heaven and Hell, The Mob Rules and Dehumanizer. There are also two new songs, The Devil Cried and Shadow of the Wind, that were released earlier in the year from Black Sabbath: The Dio years.

If you weren’t fortunate enough to catch Heaven and Hell live, this CD is one that you will not want to miss. 65 or not, Ronnie James Dio is still singing as good as he ever has in 2007. The combined force of Tommi Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Vinnie Appice on drums is not one to be missed.

The sound quality on this disc is superb, and the music is fantastic. If you are a Black Sabbath fan, you need to buy this must own 2 CD set!

  2. Easily the best releae of a CD or DVD this year. My only complaint, no “Turn Up The Night” anywhere. Alot of words in that song for RJD so I understand. Dio’s & Iommi’s best stuff were created while together in Sabbath. THANK YOU!

  3. Turns out the setlist was shortened again.
I just saw them on sunday.
    In orlando

    YEAH!!!
    IT WAS GOOD!!
    But I was dissapointed.
    No After All
    No Lady Evil
    No Shadow of the Wind.
No Lonely is the Word (I knew that allready though)
and No Ear in the Wall.

WHY THE FUCK DID THEY SHORTEN IT?!!
PPL are saying that tony did it but thats not possible.
Tony Iommi stated earlier this year, that he is excited to be playing longer setlists.
