City Sleeps – Not An Angel (Release Year – 2007)
A new five piece band from Atlanta, Georgia called City Sleeps is about to make its rock debut in October with their new release, Not An Angel.
This band is lead by frontman, Ely Dye , Adriel Garcia (guitar), London (drums), Milo (guitar) and Brady (bass).
City Sleeps has a song on the new CD Soundtrack to Resident Evil: Extinction, and a solid debut CD, Not An Angel that will help usher them into the limelight.
Judging from their first single and video Prototype, this band’s music is primed for radio play, and could easily have some pop and rock crossover hits and some definite mainstream success.
Ely Dye has a vocal range that hits the high notes with ease. At times, I think he could easily match Sting note for note. His soaring vocals grab you on the very first listen.
Prototype, Just Another Day, Not An Angel and Sleep With Me are my early favorites off of this record. The intro and exit tracks Hotel and Check Out are throw away instrumentals, but luckily, there is enough meat in between these songs to make this a record worth checking out. Not An Angel is an upbeat record, and is a lighter than a lot of the artists that I review at the Hard Rock Hideout. I thought this was a new release worth mentioning.
If Alternative Rock is your thing, check out City Sleeps on myspace. If you like what you hear, check out the pre-order offer below!
Something to note for you rockers in or around Atlanta, Georgia!
Starting Tuesday, September 25, get a free concert ticket to see City Sleeps in Atlanta when you pre-order their new album, Not An Angel (out 10/9) from Criminal Records. The concert is at the Masquerade on Friday, October 12, and it is an all-ages show. The first 50 people to pre-order the new CD will get TWO tickets to the show. That’s a new CD plus two concert tickets for a mere $9.99! (A single ticket to the show would cost you $10, plus Ticketmaster fees, of course.) Even if you’re not one of the first 50 people to pre-order Not An Angel, it’s still a good deal for a CD and one ticket.

Good band! London, great to meet you! Sorry didn’t get to yap drums more. Call Nickelworks sometime and say hi!
I can.. Hi natalia.. This brady the bass player for City Sleeps. You probably heard a “burnt copy” of the record from someone else who had it, and then was passed to you or someone else. For a short while, we sold the full length CD at our merch booth for almost nothing, just so we could eat on the way to the next venue on tour. For about a year and a half, we had no label and/or tour support financially. Hope that answers your question:) Enjoy the “real” record tho:)
how the fuck can it be that i already have the album?? i got it last year!!! i just don’t understand this… i mean, the release date is supposed to be october 9th but i’ve had the cd for many many months now… i read “new cd” and i thought “awesome, new stuff” but i’ve already heard the 12 tracks!!! can anybody explain this?
If they can fight off the “sophmore slump” these guys could really go far.
