Evans Blue – The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal Of Life Ends

EVBCanadian rock band Evans Blue does not have a name that would necessarily bring Hard Rock or Heavy Metal to mind. The band has crafted a very good modern hard rock release that sounds like a cross between Tool and Atreyu.

Singer Kevin Matisyn has a strong and very good, clean singing voice. His voice drives the tunes on “The Pursuit” which range from heavy rockers like Red Dress, Shine Your Cadillac and The Pursuit to more mainstream sounding tracks like Q, Kiss the Flag, Pin-Up, and Fear. It is a nice variety of songs that make for a very good listen.

The bands’ sound has matured quite a bit since the debut record, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume. I will be anxious to see how the bands’ sound continues to evolve on the next release.

Until then “The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal Of Life Ends” is another release that these Canadian rockers can be proud of.
