The Order – Metal Casino (Release Year – 2007)
I love it when new Metal Acts surprise me in 2007, especially when they have a sound that is rooted in 80’s hard rock and metal. The Order actually isn’t new, this is actually their 2nd full length release.
The Order are a four piece band out of Switzerland. They have a sound that blends a little bit of Dokken, with a dash of KISS, and yet rock hard enough to create something different and new.
Take one listen to Gianni Pontillo’s vocals in the video below, for the song Satisfaction, and see if you can hear a little bit of Paul Stanley in his sound.
Nonetheless, Metal Casino rocks from beginning to end. There are plenty of great cuts on this record including “Mama”, “I love Rock ‘N’ Roll”, “Satisfaction”, and the excellent ballad “My Last Goodbye”. Fans of 80’s Hard Rock Bands like Dokken, XYZ, KISS and Krokus are going to love this disc.
The Order joins what seems to be a growing list of great Swiss Hard Rock bands releasing quality new tunes in the last couple of years. This disc is definitely a contender for one of the Top 10 Hard Rock Records of 2007!.

Bic & Que – you must mean mainstream Europe!! In the UK it’s less rock, rock, rock and more mindless, scripted talent shows and manufactured pop crap. Of course Rock Of Ages is one of many trying to fly a rock flag in the midst of all this!
As for The Order though this is a fine album that I’ve enjoyed greatly. Check out the superb “Down With The Rain” or “Forever” if possible or try to spot the classic Randy Rhodes riff in the ballad “My Last Goodbye”…
Sounds good ROCKS*********
Europe must be the place to live if you wanna Rock fulltime…
No Rap, no punk, no emo…..nothing but Rock Rock Rock
Or so it seems from this side of the pond…..
