Tracii Guns has issued the following statement:

“It has come to my attention that my old band mates Phil Lewis and Steve Riley are desperately trying to wage a campaign to have LA Guns shows cancelled. Although it is not an ideal situation, I think that by now everyone is aware that there are two versions of LA Guns performing out on the road. I have repeatedly tried to responsibly fix the situation, but obviously some old wounds never heal – mine included. Rather than insist on the other version of LA Guns immediately cease all activities, I have for whatever reason allowed them to continue to exist for the simple reason that I think the world is big enough for both of us. I also think that they, like all of us, have a right to make a living.

Now I have learned that Phil has made it a personal goal to basically attack the version of LA Guns that features me. They have sent false statements to several promoters saying that I am not performing with the ‘real’ LA Guns, etc. Whichever version of LA Guns the fans favor, I would hope that everyone knows that this is completely ridiculous. With all due respect to their contributions to LA Guns history, Phil and Steve were not even the original members of the band. Now they have the balls to say that I am not the ‘real’ version of LA Guns? I guess that is what I get for trying to mind my own business and be a good guy.

We have played all over the world this year to great crowds including Trinidad, Argentina, two tours of Europe, three US tours, Korea, and now we are looking forward to playing in 2008 all over and will start the new year on a west coast run with SKID ROW.”

  1. where is traci from? Whats his last name? ……… any questions?

  2. I had seen The “real” version of LA Guns in Imperial, PA December 5th 2007. It was amazing! I loved it. They interact with the audience really well. I have not seen the other LA Guns. I had gone because a friends of mine, their band was playing up there that night as well. I have personally met, Tracii, Jeremy, and Paul. I didn’t get much of a chance to meet the Drummer. But I was right up front in front of Paul and someone had pushed me over the speakers since it was a small bar, there wasn’t really much room. Paul had helped me up and introduced himself. As well Tracii did too. They interacted well with me and my friend and brother. I was only 16 at the time. When they did Ballad of Jayne (song for Jayne Mansfield) they invited the whole audience up to sit with them. I sat between Paul and Tracii, and they were completely amazing. But I believe that since it is Tracii’s name sake, that he should be able to keep the name of the band. I think that this has all gone out of proportion. And I am on Tracii’s side. That why can’t two exist. They are getting people to fall in love with LA Guns. Both groups are getting the music out there. And Im glad they are doing so. I’m pretty sure that Paul Black was the lead singer before Phil was. But as long as they are getting the music out there and people love it. And they are spreading it. Why should it matter? It shouldn’t

  3. I saw Phil’s Gun’s last night in Michigan. They were severely bagged and ghostly looking. They put on a show I will never forget. It was awesome. The last time I saw guns was in Ontario, about 96, up there with the worst shows I’ve ever seen,Traci is great but without a true frontman well….

  4. After choosing to leave L.A Guns for Brides of Destruction, regardless of who formed it & who the original members are, I feel the only repectful (and self respectful) thing to do would be to use a different name for the ‘new’ version with Paul Black singing. Is Tracii that insecure that he needs to hang on to the name he’s forsaken, regardless of the fact he’s created what now appears to be one of the classic rock debacles? He left the band! It’s time to do what’s morally right, stop confusing the punters and use a different name.
