Bobaflex – Tales From Dirt Town (2007)

Bobaflex2 The five piece band Bobaflex, from West Virgina returns in 2007, with their sophomore effort, Tales From Dirt Town.

Until recently, I have not heard any Bobaflex tunes so I had no expectations when I first listened to this disc. Much to my surprise, I found a very strong record that mixes a little bit of southern rock, with heavy metal. I instantly compared Bobaflex to some of the other stand out bands of a similar vein that I have been listening too quite often, Black Stone Cherry and The Showdown.

There is a definite modern feel to this record, and this is definitely radio ready rock. My favorite cuts on this disc are the super heavy Sellout, the hard rocking tune Born Again, the excellent headbanging tune, Need A Drink and the balladesque Home.

Tales from Dirt Town is an extremely solid metal record, and one for today’s hard rock fans to check out. You can check out three of Bobaflex’s new tunes at this link.
