Video Showdown #2: Avenged Sevenfold vs. Overkill
Today’s Video Showdown puts the Metal band Overkill against Avenged Sevenfold.
It seems that there is some logo infringement between the bands Overkill, and Avenged Sevenfold. Overkill has been using the flying bat skull logo since their 1988 release, Under the Influence.
Meanwhile, the flying bat skull started showing up on Avenged Sevenfold covers in 2003, with the A7X’s release, Waking the Fallen.

This isn’t even an argument…OVERKILL hands down…people are saying A7x is the better band cause they sell out shows and sell albums…so did britney spears so do terrible bands like nickleback…a7x get played on the radio…they are posers trying to live like real metal gods…they’re not! Just like the RUB’s that buy a new harley/chopper/bobber and all the new leathers then hit the road since now they’re a biker…get fuckin real…a7x is one of metal’s HOG chapters…Overkill was rockin the batwing skull and ruling the stage when the a7x crew was still shitting their pampers
this isnt opinion this is fact all of a7x , not including johnny christ the bassist were born in eighty-one, so they wouldve been about six when the album came out so at that point they wouldnt be shitting their pants, whoever the great Valient K is who thinks they know a damn thing about avenged sevenfold dont talk unless you know, thank you.
Okay, so they were 6. That still proves that Overkill came before and that avenged sevenfold stole their logo. I don’t really care, but just pointing that out.
The batwinged skull was on several Overkill album covers, long before A7X ever existed.
