Odin – Human Animal (2007)

Odin The band Odin is back in action again. You may remember these guys from the mid 80′s, or from the movie, The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years.

If the three tracks on the Human Animal EP is any indication of the kind of tunes that Odin has in store for us in 2008, sign me up now.

Jeff Duncan’s guitar work on this record is very similar to his heavy licks on the Armored Saint records on which he appeared.

Randy “O” has a one of a kind, earth-shattering scream that is extremely cool.

As a whole, Odin has a heavy sound that falls somewhere between Dokken and DIO. It is a great metal sound that I can really get into. My only problem with this EP, like so many of them is, it is too short. The three songs on this disc, only left me wanting to hear more.

Once this CD starts to circulate, fans will be demanding more Odin, without a doubt.

  1. thx

  2. Yes sir, it is.

  3. Are these the same Duncan brothers like in DC4?

  4. This is some unreal music,,,, Odin hats off guys. Randy o is smoking on the new tracks
Jeff your ripping it up. Your a Monster.

  5. Mastercard maybe?

  6. Sounds like this is gonna be a “wait and see” situation….

But….if HRH likes the new stuff….then it’s gotta be good!

Sounds like a commercial doesn’t it? LOL

  7. Odin’s biggest problem the first time around was songwriting because it was mess. Randy O’s are out of control and not really in a good way. The music was alright to an extent but mainly they just didn’t seem to have a handle on how to control their songs and really get the most from the hooks. It was easy to see why these guys never got a major label deal despite playing the strip during the prime of the hair metal days. Now what might give me hope for a new version of the band is that Jeff Duncan played with Armored Saint and he tore it up while there. The new DC4 album that includes half of this band is pretty good too.

  8. Odin was featured in a Lesser of Two Evils over at Heavy Metal Time Machine:

They may have won handily, but the band they beat, London, was the Grand Stinker out of the ten losers in Metal Mark’s best feature over there.
