Million Dollar Reload – Anthems of a Degeneration (2007)

M$R The country that brought us the awesome band, The Answer, now has another rock band to be proud of! (No, not U2!)

Million Dollar Reload, the five piece band, from Belfast, Ireland has released one great slab of rock with their cd, Anthems of a Degeneration.

When I hear a CD this good, I wonder if I am living on the wrong side of the pond. Why releases like this aren’t circulating in the United States to mass appeal is a crime in my opinion.

Million Dollar Reload has a sound that I would compare as a cross between Buckcherry, Guns ‘N Roses, and maybe a little bit of AC/DC. The music may be unoriginal, but when songs are this good, I could care less. A CD of this quality deserves to be in the player of every hard rock fan, regardless of what country you live in. One thing is for certain, if the band can a major record label to bite on this release, this band will be huge!

The first six songs on Anthems of a Degeneration are high energy rockers. The band doesn’t give you a chance to breathe until you get to the song, The Last Icon. This is a slower track, but should be a monster hit for this band. It is a song about rock stars passed on including AC/DC’s Bon Scott.

The pace resumes with the awesome track Tattoos and Dirty Girls and rocks all the way through the final cut, Travel. I thought the title “Travel” was a strange name for a balladesque tune, but it is another hit worthy number for the band, and a very strong note on which to close this disc.

You can buy a copy of the CD off of the Million Dollar Reload myspace page. Don’t even hesitate to pick this one up. This is a great rock CD. It should not be missed!
