PoePorn Los Angeles rockers, Poets & Pornstars has released their debut album in 2007.

This CD has a mixture of styles. Some tunes fall a little closer to the alternative rock side, and some tunes are certainly hard rock.

I could not get into this record after the first couple of spins. Some of the tunes here started growing on me with repeated listens. I usually lean towards the harder tracks on albums with mixed styles like this one. Some of my favorite songs on this record are Rock and Roll, Get Your Kicks, Strange, and Monkey.

I believe the first half of the album is much more rocking than the later half of the disc. With that being said, this isn’t my favorite CD of late, but it does have some solid tunes worth investigating. Hal Ozsan is a good singer.  He seems to have fun with the songs, and that comes across when you listen to the songs here.

Sadly, he has left the band, right at a time when the band seemed to be gaining some momentum. I am not sure what is in store for this band in the future, but their debut is an album that a few of you may want to look into.

Kick Back is a decent tune.
    Don’t ask why…..

The vid song is fairly generic, but still a good tune.
    Definitely worth the listen.
