The reactivated LYNCH MOB — featuring guitarist George Lynch (ex-DOKKEN) and vocalist Oni Logan alongside legendary drummer Tommy Aldridge (OZZY OSBOURNE, TED NUGENT, WHITESNAKE) and bassist Marco Mendoza (WHITESNAKE, THIN LIZZY) — will take part in this summer’s CINDERELLA/WARRANT U.S. tour.
“The LYNCH MOB is going out, in the U.S., starting in July of 2008 for approximately 40 shows,” reads a posting on Oni’s MySpace page. “The package tour is headlined by CINDERELLA followed by WARRANT and the LYNCH MOB.”
Birmingham, Alabama-based hard rockers LYNAM are rumored to have secured the opening slot on the trek, which will make a stop at the Rocklahoma festival the weekend of July 10-13, 2008 at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma. The package is also expected to appear at the Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin on July 17. Additional dates will be announced soon.
POISON, SEBASTIAN BACH and DOKKEN will team up for a U.S. tour this summer. POISON will headline the trek, with SEBASTIAN BACH and DOKKEN rotating the opening slot. So far only one date is available: Saturday, August 23 at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk in Universal City, California.
As previously reported, POISON will perform at the Rock2Wgtn music festival, which is scheduled to take place March 22-23 at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand. Also scheduled to appear are WHITESNAKE, ALICE COOPER, OZZY OSBOURNE, KISS and LORDI.
POISON’s album of cover songs, “Poison’d!”, sold 21,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release in June 2007 to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD presents the band’s first new studio recordings since 2002’s “Hollyweird”. Produced by Don Was at Hensen Recording Studios in Hollywood, “Poison’d” packs 13 explosive tracks, including new recordings of DAVID BOWIE’s “Suffragette City”, THE CARS’ “You’re Just What I Needed”, THE ROMANTICS’ “What I Like About You”, SWEET’s “Little Willy”, THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND’s “Can’t You See” and THE ROLLING STONES’ “Dead Flowers”. Some of POISON’s best previously recorded covers are also featured on “Poison’d”, including KISS’ “Rock and Roll All Nite”, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD’s “We’re An American Band” and LOGGINS AND MESSINA’s “Your Mama Don’t Dance”.

Fastway is the band started up by former Motorhead guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clark and ex-UFO bass player Pete Way.
I used to like Fastway fairly well, but it has been a long time since I have given their self titled debut any plays. I thought I would dust the cobwebs off this disc, and see what I think about it in 2008.
There are two must play songs on this disc, Easy Livin’ and Say What you Will. Say What You Will is easily Fastway’s biggest hit. This hard rock anthem was a staple on the radio for many years, and is still favorite of mine.
Digging deeper into this record, and you can easily hear the influence of Led Zeppelin in the music. There are several heavy tunes with that same style of Zeppelinesque groove.
While the music isn’t very original, it is a very good piece of 80’s metal.
Dave King has a very unique voice which is well suited to the music. “Fast” Eddie Clark plays some wicked guitar riffs all over this album. Pete Way’s heavy bass on this record is unmistakable.
Some additional tracks that I like on this disc are Feel Me, Touch Me, Heft!, and Give It All You Got.
This isn’t a perfect album by any means, but still deserves a few spins from time to time. It is a solid disc and is one that I still think is worth having in my collection. You can check out the video for the tune, Say What You Will below!
