As usual it was a great show ! Eight of us got there around 6pm. I usually make it a tradition to have some drinks and mingle with the rockers in the parking lot...but for some STUPID reason Sabastian Bach was on first and that annoyed me. I thought for sure Dokken would...havent heard from them in years. Whatever...anyway i got a text from a girl i knew who was already there telling me : Duck..you better put down your beer and get your ass up here..your boy is on." So we down our beers and haul ass to our seats. We were lucky enough to know some people who got us in the orchestra section...we were pretty happy about that! So baz is on and his vocals were stellar...wow! I've always known he's had some great set of pipes but I didnt think he still had it that good! He was great and his band was loud and tight! Just the way i like my rock n roll man! He played some SKID ROW ers stuff (18 and life / Youth gone wild / and of course...I'll remember you - which got all the girls panties wet ) and he also played stuff from his new release : ANGEL DOWN. That shit rocked man! I was very impressed! Baz had the crowd singing along and pumping their fists...he's still a great frontman , no doubt! I'm happy i finally got to see him live after all these years... Dokken: was a BIG suprise! Even without the amazing guitar work of george lynch not being present the band kicked ass! Don's vocals were excellent and the new guitarist he had by his side rocked! Very cool...they mostly played their greatest hits. I've never been a huge fan of these guys so I'll just say that it was worth seeing them live... POISON...ok..seen these guys many many summers and even though the show was (as usual) worth every penny...I really wish they would change up the set list a little here and there! Christ...it truly is the SAME show every summer. Dont get me wrong...it was a blast and i was up on my feet the whole time singing..dancing..and rocking out! But the same songs and the same order? Maybe I've seen them too many times? Besides the fact that they mostly played their greatest hits (Look what the cat dragged in / fallen angel / I want action / I wont forget you / Ride the wind / Every Rose / Unskinny bop *my personal fave / Nuthin but a good time / Something to believe in / Ect Ect. I really wish they kept the remake of "What i like about you" by the romantics off the list. God I hate that song. Does anyone else agree they should have left this damn song off the set list? (which I'll never get) The girls were swarming all over the place due to that whole corney rock of love crap...not that im complaining! I met some really cute girls that night...one in perticular that made me laugh out loud! It's good to know there are still some real girl ROCKERS out there! The new guitar player, Jon Levin, is nothing short of incredible and to fill the shoes of George Lynch, thats an accomplishment...I will drive out of state for this one if I have to.
