    This is taken right off of Mandy Lion’s myspace site and I have to say that I agree with everything he is saying to the young chap. Say what you will about the man but he does his part. He doesn’t just talk shit he actually thinks and helps the youngens.
    Here is what he wrote:

    Young vocalist asking advice on how to deal with “Keyboard Warriors”.

    This is a letter from a young singer starting up asking me for advice on how to deal with keyboard warriors”… I just wanted to share this with you all. Here is what he said…

    ===============================================================

    Im startin to sing in a band and i want to be like you one day. One thing that I cant deal with is when people say i suck. I know im not good yet but im tryin to get better. What can i do to make people stop making me feel bad? I dont know if I can deal with feelin bad all the time but i really want to be a singer.

    You are the best!

    ===============================================================

    My response…

    Thank you so much for the kind letter my friend…
    Unfortunately there is no way you will ever be able to stop people from saying whatever they want about you… If you want to be a performer then you will have to learn to deal with mean spirited and sometimes even downright vicious comments. On one hand you have to stay humble enough to keep your feet on the ground and on the other hand you need to become confident enough to stay sane in this insane business. There are a few things that might help you deal with this part of being an entertainer a little better and those are…
    Everyone who is in the business has dealt with this kind of stuff all throughout their career no matter how successful they are… Jimi Hendrix could not get arrested at some point, Prince got booed off the stage hundreds of times, Led Zeppelin got very few good reviews throughout their career, Van Halen got turned down by every label because they had “no commercial potential”…??? I could go on and on but I am sure you get what I am trying to say here… These are all musical geniuses who got attacked and critiqued by people who aren’t even in the same universe as these immortal legends… When you decide to become a public figure you have to realize that there is a part of the public which is made of kind, intelligent and cool people and there are also those who don’t have any of these qualities… Birth control is so very important these days and the “keyboard warriors” as I like to call them are living proof. The Internet has many great things to offer but it also offers every town idiot a forum where they can air their pointless little opinions. The rest of us need to learn how to take the good with the bad because even a moron has the right to babble out their inconsequential little rants…
    You are most certainly not the first nor the last singer who will get attacked by these abortions gone wrong… Life is NOT about tearing other people down… Life is about lifting other people UP! People who bring negativity into other people’s lives are like a cancer… You need to cut them out before they make you sick. Sad thing is these people don’t even realize they are being a cancer… They are not thinking about how their poison makes other people feel… They are not smart enough to realize that performers are human and have feelings as well… We can all learn from these “people” how NOT to act… Don’t be a cancer in other people’s lives… Try to be a blessing to those around you… Make music that inspires people… Live your life in a way that deserves the respect of others and ignore negativity…
    I myself deal with this all the time… I am too aggressive for some, not aggressive enough for others… On one CD I was too sexual for some while I was not sexual enough on the next CD… People even attack me for stuff that has nothing to do with music at all like… I get attacked for what I wear, for what I ride, for talking about dogs as much as I do and some people just hate me just for who they think I am plain and simple…
    I remember when I was 15 years old I was playing in a third rate band with fourth rate musicians… At that time there was no vocalist who sounded anything like me and as you can imagine I stuck out like a sore thumb… I remember these less than average musicians telling me that I needed to try and sound more like the singers in bands like Black Sabbath or Rainbow if I wanted to ever be respected by these legendary musicians… Of course I never changed the way I sang and continued on doing what I do. Three years later Vinnie Appice from Black Sabbath and Jimmy Bain from Rainbow auditioned for and joined my band… Guess who had to shut their big fat traps after that…? They all since then have quit playing music and to this day they are telling everyone how they were once in a band with Mandy Lion…
    What you need to learn is to perform for those who like what you do and shut out the ones who don’t like what you do. You have to understand that when a person attacks you for no reason at all then it has nothing to do with what you are doing… A person that attacks someone for no reason has problems which have nothing to do with you or your music. Those are people who are insecure, bitter and generally have nothing going for them. This is why they are angry and lashing out at people who are doing more than they are able to. If I don’t like someone’s music I just don’t listen but why would I get angry at them…? It is not like anyone is writing a song trying to annoy me, you know…? People who get that angry at you just for being you are pretty sad and pathetic little creatures whom you should never allow to make you feel bad. Instead realize that just the mere fact that they are talking about you is prove you are doing more than they ever will… Those who cannot do will critique what others have done… ANYONE can sit there hiding behind a computer talking shit… That demands no talent, intelligence or guts… Putting yourself out there for the world to see and sing YOUR song THAT takes guts… If someone talks shit about you just tell them to do it better and watch them do NOTHING!
    Stay strong, express yourself and don’t let people who are doing nothing with their lives drag you down. Play your music from the heart for those who will connect with your art. Those are the only people who matter. Let the shit talkers talk shit because that is all they can do and their opinion means absolutely nothing…
    Good luck and keep me informed on how you are doing with your music.

    I didn’t take this one as seriously as you all did. I cracked up after watching this video. I thought it was kind of funny.

    ohh boy.. I don’t even know where to start.
    Fist, who the hell is this douche? I must have missed the “legend” the first time, because, now he is returning from somewhere he should never came out in the fist place and never heard about him until now and I truly wish I hadn’t.
    This does not only suck balls but utterly shatters it.
    Please Rob, don’t subject anyone else to this kind of torture anymore..

    I think we need Marcelo to weigh in on whether this one does in fact suck balls.

    Eh, I’d have to agree with bob_vinyl. The song’s just void of anything resembling feeling. Decent enough riff, but the vocals are just lifeless.

    That was some great dancing in that video! =)

    Granted, “Kiss” has to be a really tough song to cover, but this guy butchers it. Even without comparing it to the original, it’s horribly flat. He trades sexy for dirty and his stab at turning it into a White Zombie song fails. This just has no redeeming quality. It’s a shame to hear a great song disrespected in this way.
