Journey, Cheap Trick and Heart Summer Tour!

Classic-rock fans have a triple-play to look forward to this summer when Journey, Cheap Trick and Heart join forces for a massive tour.
The 50-date run is scheduled to kick off July 9 in Denver and is booked primarily at amphitheaters throughout the US. The itinerary, included below, stretches into early October.
The outing will mark the debut of new Journey singer Arnel Pineda, whom the group crowned in December as the replacement for the band’s short-lived previous vocalist, Jeff Scott Soto, who split with the group last May after fronting the act for less than a year. Soto stepped into the role in 2006 when then-lead singer Steve Augieri was sidelined with vocal problems; Augieri had held the slot since the late ’90s after taking over for the group’s best-known singer, Steve Perry, with whom the band scored a flock of late-’70s and early ’80s hits including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Fathfully,” “Wheel in the Sky,” “Any Way You Want It” and “Open Arms.”
The upcoming tour supports Journey’s forthcoming June 3 release, “Revelation,” a three-disc CD and DVD package that will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in North America, according to a press release. Disc one comprises 11 re-recorded classics, disc two features 11 new songs, and disc three is a concert DVD.
Heart–sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson–released its most recent album, “Jupiter’s Darling,” in 2004. The set marked the pair’s first new studio collection in more than a decade.
Last September, Ann Wilson offered up her first solo album, “Hope & Glory.” She’s backing the set with a series of live shows that are scattered through mid-June; details are available at her MySpace page.
Cheap Trick dropped its latest album, “Rockford,” in 2006.

This 3 Bill is winding up, and if you have the chance~Make it a fun night out. Having seen both Cheap Trick and Journey in the late 70’s, Heart was the reason I bought the ticket, and not to be disappointed at all. THE WILSON’S ROCK!! Most all of there biggest hits, along with 2 phenomenal covers of “Reign O’er Me” and “Going to California”, Strong Vocals, and Strong Guitar pounding, and Mando pickin. Cheap Trick’s set was 45-55 minutes, but Rick’s parade of spectacular guitars and pick throwing was as I remember from previous, and they sounded GREAT! After a near 30 minute break Journey took the stage with their new lead, Arnel Pineda. A big voice from a not so big man. The sound was pure Journey, and Arnel does not disappoint, and he delivers. Journey sounds as pure as ever, right up to the final song, and their current drummer has a surprising amazing voice carrying Mother, Father, Sister, Brother while pounding on his set. I was happy I went, and for the money no one should leave disappointed. But as a true Journey fan, the walk to my car with all of the radios blasting Journey songs, Steve Perry was sadly missed. He will always be THE effortless voice of Journey.
I saw the tour in Saratoga Springs new york on sunday and it was amazing! Cheaptick was good, they had a short set but it was good. Heart was my absolute favorite. They were too amazing to describe I love them! they still rock as good as ever after 30 years. Nancy kicked ass on the guitar and Ann’s voice was incredible. Dvds and Albums don’t hardly do them real justice. I couldn’t believe I was actually there watching them live! Journey was a great surprise. Arnel was awesome, so talented and he really has alot to give to the band and audiences around the world. I would love to see any of them again!!!
Went to this concert last night in Camden, NJ and it was great. Any Wilson pipes were as strong as every delivering as only Heart can do. Cheap Trick was loud as always, just not that big a fan of theirs. Then Journey hit the stage and rocked the house with new and old material, especially with the older Steve Perry tunes. Neal Schon did his typical great guitar rocking and new lead singer Arnel Pineda brought down the house and if you were to close your eyes it sounded just like the Steve Perry day of Journey hay days. Great show.
I went to the show in Selma, Texas on Friday July 25Th 2008. I did not get to see too much of Cheap Trick, because of the traffic getting into this venue. Heart was amazing they sounded as if I were listening to the CD. Nancy Wilson is one of the best guitarist in the Rock N Roll business (male or female). Ann could sing a dinner menu and it would sound excellent. What a class act. Journey with Mr. Pineda sounded awesome. It was such a treat to hearing Neal Schon blast out all those familiar Journey classic hits. This is a show that was worth seeing and I was glad to be there. I bought some high dollar T-shirts to prove it. Go see this show if you can!
just got back from the Dallas show….believe me…I think the new singer raised the bar over all previous lead vocals. Journey sounded as pure as they ever did.
Check out the new journey singer on youtube. Close your eyes and you will think it’s steve perry
last time i attended a triplay (Def Leppard, styx, foreigner) it was awesome. I was hesitant on this one cause steve perry won’t be performing but hope the new lead singer will do his songs justice.
too muzak!
