Dead Child – Attack (Release Year – 2008)

I don’t know what is happening in the Bluegrass state, but I am starting to see a trend where more and more good hard rock and metal acts are coming from the state of Kentucky.

Dead Child doesn’t follow the trend of newer metal acts. They don’t employ cookie monster as a singer. They are not a death metal or hardcore band, they are straight up heavy metal.

If I were to compare Dead Child to existing metal acts, I would describe them as a blend of Metal Church, Suicidal Tendencies and maybe a dabble of Metallica. They aren’t a dead ringer for any band that is out there today. One thing is for certain, they flat out rock.

Dead Child dishes up several cuts that will instigate headbanging all over the planet. The galloping guitars Michael McMahan, and David Christian Pajo, and the crunching rhythm of Todd Cook and Tony Bailey will certainly appeal to the majority of metal heads out there.

My listening habits have been leaning towards the heavy metal side of the fence as of late, and I have been enjoying Attack a great deal. I think a bunch of you will too!
