What Is Your Favorite New Rock CD of 2008?
The first half of 2008 is already over. Yes, it is hard to believe that half of the year is already gone, and we have already had quite a few quality new releases in 2008.
What are some of your favorite hard rock or metal discs of 2008?

Hard Rock Hideout 
Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Johnny Crash, Man Raze, Damage Control but I have my eyes set on September when Black Butterfly hits the shelves.
Great year for rock, no doubt about it.
1. Motley
2. 10 Years
3. Hurt (is that 2008? who cares great album, my list)
4. Dokken
5. Theory of a Deadman
I have listened to, bought, and received more new releases this year than ever. I have been so lucky to have many independent bands and record labels send in new CDs for review, it’s getting to the point that I can’t keep up!
There is one album that I have been listening to non-stop since it’s release in late Jan/early Feb……AVANTASIA – THE SCARECROW.
So far it’s leading all the new releases wire to wire!
If I had to pick a Top 5 now:
1. Avantasia – The Scarecrow
2. Whiresnake – Good To Be Bad
3. Def Leppard – Songs From The Sparkle Lounge
4. Journey – Revelation
5. Tyr – Land & Moonspell – Night Eternal (tie)
There is so much music to come with Metallica and AC/DC putting out new ones and there are the newest releases I have made up my mind on yet from Priest, Crue, and Benedictum. I have a stack of discs on my desk that I have to go thru!

Its tooo bad Clear Channel and the rest arent playing much Whitesnake,Dokken or Judas Priest on the radio… with ratings on Alt music soo horrible the least few years and New Metal from Disturbed and Motley selling..they should play ALL New Metal even from the 80s tooo…I say Disturbed,MotleyCrue,Whitenake are top 3 with BulletformyValentine,Blacktide,Dokken coming up next.
My two fave rock albums of 2008 so far are Uriah Heep – Wake the Sleeper and Stone Rider – Three Legs of Trouble. Whitesnake’s latest album is not bad at all either. this really has been a great year for hard rock releases. It hasn’t necessarily been as strong a year for metal releases though. Honestly, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for Metallica’s new release to set the world on fire, but the sheep will gobble it up anyway.
I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one! So much great music this year! Here are my top 5:

I could easily add 25 more to that list! 2008 has been a great year. Here’s hoping Metallica just blows us out of the water with their new album this fall!
