New AC/DC in October?

According to a posting on the unofficial AC/DC web site AC/DC Electric Shock, AC/DC’s new album, whch will most likely be called “Black Ice”, will be released by Columbia Records on October 28 in North America and October 27 in the rest of the world. The first single, “Runaway Train”, which was also a contender for the album’s title, will be released in late August. Details for a world tour starting in late 2008 should be announced in the coming days.

AC/DC’s new album will follow 2000’s “Stiff Upper Lip”. It was recorded at a Canadian studio with PEARL JAM and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN producer Brendan O’Brien.

Sony BMG, Columbia’s parent company, recently revealed that the disc will be sold exclusively through Wal-Mart stores, which has caused controversy with critics and fans.

  6. I am so pumped for this album and tour. It’s great to see Angus work with Brendan O’Brien. Pearl Jam hasn’t made a bad record with him yet and AC/DC is not capable of making a bad record, so it is a total WIN-WIN situation.

  7. Awesome!!! Can not wait!! It does kinda suck that it’ll be in Walmart only. What about the locally owned stores? Oh Well, off to fuckin’ Wally-World I go, when the new disc comes out!!!! I dig the title “Black Ice” too.Been a fan since I was 8 or 9!!
