Bang Tango, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat Concert Review Part 3
Bang Tango, L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat came to Louisville’s Expo Five Sunday Night (7/20/08). To read about Bang Tango’s opening set, click here. To read about L.A. Guns (featuring Tracii Guns) click here.

Faster Pussycat was the headlining act last Sunday Night. They opened the show, with the title cut off of their new CD, The Power and the Gloryhole. The rest of the set had the following tunes in no certain order:
House of Pain, Cathouse, Bathroom Wall, Babylon, Porn Star, Sex Drugs & Rock-N-Roll, When There’s A Whip There’s A Way.
Taime Downe’s vocals still sound the same after all of these years. It has been an extremely long time since I have seen this band. I don’t recall Taime chain smoking through every song he performs. For goodness sakes, put the cancer sticks away for an hour Taime!

Taime is the only original member left in Faster Pussycat. In fact, a couple of his band members, played earlier in the night. L.A. Guns drummer Chad Stewart was behind the skins, and Bang Tango guitarist, Michael Thomas handled the lead guitar. The rest of the band was fleshed out by Taime’s Newlydead bandmates, guitarist Xristian Simon, and Danny Nordahl on bass.
I must admit that I am not a very big fan of the latest Faster Pussycat CD, The Power and The Gloryhole. I
was amazed that a lot of the new songs sound better live, than they do on the CD. I may have to revisit that CD, and update my original review.
Faster Pussycat sounded pretty good on Sunday Night. My only complaint is that their set was way too short. I would have liked to have heard 4 or 5 more tunes by Taime and company.
All three bands were better than I expected them to be. L.A. Guns stole the show, but Bang Tango and Faster Pussycat were still worth seeing. If you are a fan of these bands, be sure to check them out on one of their remaining dates. I hope you enjoy the Faster Pussycat videos below!
