So where DID all the rock stars go? Did they all drown in a pool of excess or all go join Alice Cooper on the golf course? It’s not the excess that the world is missing out on………the world does not need any more hair sprayed bands in make up, and if you need a dose of excess past you can always go revisit chapters 1-30 of “The Dirt.” Where are the huge guitar riffs over multi layered walls of sound that drive you into sensory overload? Hallucinatory hard rockers Bigelf have solved this problem with their latest released “Cheat the Gallows.” You can’t help but be swept adrift by the doomed mist of infectious melodies and chilling harmonies that collide with an otherworldly embrace of the psychedelic on “Cheat the Gallows,” the band’s debut release for Linda Perry’s Custard Records. Bigelf does not create music they craft orchestrations . Having formed in 1995 in Los Angeles Bigelf has released two albums overseas where they developed a tremendous cult status following. These releases were followed by empty promises from major labels for worldwide success. But that is the past, and the future is here. Bigelf have cheated the gallows and come out stronger for the wear. Now it’s time for the world to pay the piper at the gates of dawn…
We only have a few more weeks to wait until CLUTCH release their new live DVD and CD, Full Fathom Five.
The band just launched an eCard where you can sample video and audio from the two releases due out on August 12th. The releases are being put out on the band’s own record label, Weathermaker Music and will be availble on tour and exclusively at Merch.com.

Before Poison ever unlease Talk Dirty to Me on the world, there was another up and coming glam rock band, Hanoi Rocks, that should have been the next big thing.
The Nottingham Tapes catches Hanoi Rocks in their prime, performing live at the Rock City club in Nottingham, England, back in 1984. The video and audio quality isn’t the greatest, but it is above average. This footage does a good job capturing the live spirit of the band.
It wasn’t too much longer before drummer Razzle, lost his life in the accident with Motley Crue front man Vince Neil. This turn events seemed to make Hanoi Rocks self destruct.
The Nottingham Tapes will make you wonder what would have happened if the band didn’t break up back in the 80′s. The band had all the tools that would bring them success, but split apart before that would happen. This DVD is the best way to catch them in their most popular lineup from ’84.
If you are a fan of Hanoi Rocks, The Nottingham Tapes is must own DVD. It may not be the best footage you have ever seen, but you will be glad to see this part of hard rock history.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of the debut album from the highly anticipated new Melodic Rock union between Josh RAMOS and HUGO entitled “The Dream” on October 10th 2008.
On the heels of his successful RAMOS debut solo album “Living In The Light”, Josh Ramos, former guitar player of THE STORM and TWO FIRES and now shredder for HARDLINE, started looking for a new suitable vocal partner who could offer his songs the right, heavenly and soaring element that could sparkle them to the next level. The opportunity came through when the amazing Hugo, well known solo artist and former singer of OPEN SKYZ and VALENTINE, accepted the invitation to come and work on the vocal melodies and sing on the new songs.
Hugo and Josh therefore teamed up with famed bassist and producer Fabrizio Grossi (Glenn Hughes, in Los Angeles who hooked them up with keyboardist Eric Ragno (ex Takara) and John Macaluso (Riot, Starbreaker, Malmsteen etc) on drums and they helped laying down all the tracks for the album. The album mix was taken care by Dennis Ward (PC 69) at his studios in Kalrsdorf, Germany.
“It was great to have Hugo singing and writing on this album” says Josh Ramos, “He did a great job, a lot of Journey fans are going to love it and also hear a side to Hugo’s singing that they haven’t heard before. Maybe we will be able to perform together at some point!”.
“The Dream” is a cracking Melodic Rock album, resembling Journey as primary influence, but also with elements of Two Fires and Valentine’s debut albums. One of the Melodic Rock highlights of the season and definitely and album to look out for.
