The following article was posted on Blabbermouth this after noon:
TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider, whose manager apparently also works with Robert Plant, has told MuchMoreMusic’s Matt Wells that LED ZEPPELIN members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonhman have tapped ALTER BRIDGE singer Myles R. Kennedy to sing with them on the road tour if Plant refuses to join them for the much-rumored ZEPPELIN reunion tour. “They’re saying [to Robert], ‘We’re all rehearsed, we’re ready to go, here’s a gazillion dollars on the table,” Snider told MuchMoreMusic. “If you don’t do it, we’re going out with this kid. And he can sing the shit out of ZEPPELIN.’ And they’re gonna, like, hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, ‘OK,’ and step in, before having the lead singer of ALTER BRIDGE out with John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Jason Bonham.”
A short video clip of Snider talking to MuchMoreMusic about the possibility of Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonhman touring with ALTER BRIDGE singer Myles R. Kennedy can be found at this location.
Plant recently shot down reports that he has signed on to team up with LED ZEPPELIN for a reunion tour. In a message posted on his web site, the singer said that he had no road plans after his recent tour with Alison Krauss, which wrapped on October 5 in Saratoga, Florida.
The message read in part: “Robert has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years. Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with LED ZEPPELIN. Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets.”
Plant himself was quoted as saying, “It’s both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward. I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects.”
Page, Jones and Bonham have reportedly been rehearsing with a series of other vocalists, including Kennedy. There has been no official announcement as to whether the band is planning to tour or record together without Plant’s involvement.
HRH Comment: I like Alter Bridge a lot, and I think Myles Kennedy is a pretty good singer. Is Led Zeppelin a little too big for Mr. Kennedy?! It wouldn’t be the first major band to replace their lead singer (i.e. Van Halen, AC/DC, Motley Crue), and it certainly won’t be the last. While I don’t think this lineup will work, this would hopefully be the final straw to get Robert Plant to agree to do the reunion tour.
Here is Myles Kennedy in his brief moment in the movie, Rockstar.

Kelly Keeling from the bands Baton Rouge and MSG handles the vocals on all tracks with the exception of the song, ‘Gladrags & Limozenes” which features another former MSG front man, Robin McAuley.
On this disc you also have appearances by George Lynch (Dokken), and Chris Poland (Megadeth). This is a short CD, only clocking in at 28 minutes in length. It is a very good 28 minutes, and well worth your time.
I have always liked Kelly Keeling’s vocals, and he sounds great here. The disc starts off with the title track, “Long Live Me“. This song is a very cool rocker that has a pretty impressive solo by Gus G. from Firewind.
George Lynch provides the guitar solos on “Halo”, and funny enough, this sounds just like a Lynch Mob song, albeit a very good one.
On the tune “Evil” , Screamin’ Lords guitarist Jason Gile proves to have some pretty impressive guitar chops himself.
Former Megadeth axeman Chris Poland dishes out the guitar solos on “Fire In The Blue Sky”. This is easily my favorite song on “Long Live Me”. It is good to hear Poland playing again, and although his part on this album is minimal, his guitar work is excellent.
Remember the classic Fastway tune “Say What You Will“? The Screamin’ Lords cover it here, and do a good job with it. Their version is very true to the original song.
Robin McAuley takes over the lead vocals on “Gladrags & Limozenes” This is a cool upbeat tune, and one of the highlights on this CD.
Although this disc is short, it is good. Hopefully with CD #2 the guests will be fewer so the true talent of The Screamin’ Lords can shine.
The Screamin Lords are:
Jose Ferro – Bassist
Dustin Boyer – Guitar
Jason Gile – Guitar
Chris Collier – Drummer
Kelly Keeling (TSO, MSG, Baton Rouge) – Vocals
Robin McAuley (Survivor, MSG) – Lead Vocals
George Lynch (Lynch Mob, Dokken, Souls of We)- Lead Guitar
Chris Poland (Ohm, Megadeth)- Lead Guitar
Gus G. (Firewind, Dream Evil) – Lead Guitar
Loren Molinare (Little Caesar) – Rhythm Guitar
Ok, we’ll admit it. We’re already on record hailing Tesla. Just check out the back of their recent DVD “Comin’ Atcha Live! 2008” and you’ll see what we mean. Tesla’s blistering live, plugged-in performance recently on ROCKLINE was one of the best we’ve ever had in the twenty-seven year history of our show. This year has been the busiest in the eighteen year history of the Sacramento based band. It’s hard to believe they disbanded for six years at the end of the 90’s to the beginning of this millennium; because with the release on October 7th of their brand new album it is very apparent this is absolutely the best music they’ve even created. Maybe that layoff was just what the doctor ordered. Every single song is outstanding and worthy of airplay. But broadcast need not concern you as all that is needed is to load “Forever More” into your MP3 or CD player and let it rip. What’s really astonishing about this new collection of songs is the fact that you want to hear every single one again the moment it ends. That’s the hallmark of a really good album and there’s absolutely no drop off from one song to the next. It will be our absolute pleasure to welcome Jeff Keith, Frank Hannon and Brian Wheat to our next show, to play as many songs as we possibly can and to have them tell you all about them. It’s as if their whole career has been pointing to this album, an album to enjoy forever more. They began writing in January and the results are about to be made public.
The band is currently on tour (we know, what a surprise) and you can locate all the dates at TeslaTheBand.com We’re not sure how many of the new songs they have incorporated into their set, but we’d be happy to hear them play the entire new album live. Not only is it a great experience as a fan to hear music of this quality, but imagine what a jolt of electricity this must be for the band to have songs like this become part of their arsenal. If any band knows what to do with a jolt of electricity, it’s Tesla. Jeff has never sung better, Frank absolutely shreds on guitar, Brian and Troy are locked into a wicked sounding rhythm section and Dave’s contribution surely must be part of why this is working so well.
We’ve raved enough, now it’s time to deliver and let you decide for yourself. Our money is on Tesla knocking your socks off on the next ROCKLINE!
I am not sure where the following video came from, but I stumbled on the following video last night on Youtube. Enjoy!
