The End of XM Radio’s The Boneyard?!
Last night, Eddie Trunk announced that XM41 The Boneyard is going to be removed off of the XM Radio Dial. Last night was the last show of Eddie Trunk Live of 2008. Sometime before the end of the week, The Boneyard will disappear off of XM41 forever.
Before you start screaming………………this is a temporary move as Sirius XM are juggling stations. Starting January 15th, The Boneyard will return to the XM dial, on channel 53, the station that currently holds the 24 Hour AC/DC channel. For you Sirius listeners, you will also get The Boneyard on channel 19.
While I hate to see my favorite station disappearing off of the dial, and as much as I think this is a boneheaded move by XM, I am glad to see that the station will return bigger and stronger, broadcasting over both satellite networks. Eddie Trunk Live is scheduled to return on January 19th.

Man this is really annoying. I listen to the Bone Yard every single day in the car, once my mom showed me the news my jaw hit the floor. But still HAIR NATION?! I do appreciate that kind of music BUT IT’S NOT THE BONE YARD!
At least it’s returning in January. How the hell else am I gonna get an Iron Maiden fix unless I resort to CDs? It’s nice hearing them on the radio 🙂
This is not ok! I can not believe that XM has made this stupid move. Hair Nation is no substitute. We also only subscribed for Boneyard. They are going to get an earfull from this subscriber!
I wonder if this is how the KISS Army felt? LOL
Man, is this pissing me off… I just finished installing XM in my second car because my other car has Sirius only, and I GOTTA have my Boneyard.
And then they pull it? For HAIR NATION? With all due respect, if I wanted to hear the same 100 songs (mostly Bon Jovi and the same two GnR songs…guess which two…), I would have stuck with Sirius!
Oh, well… if they keep their word, then at least I’ll finally get Boneyard in both cars. But the holiday season’s gonna suck.
Yeah, no kidding. I wouldn’t of known had it not been for Eddie Trunk. I plan on calling XM and give ’em a bluff that I’m going to cancel. I did that 2 years ago when I considered Sirus during football season. They gave me a free month to stay. (try it.. it might work)
You aren’t the only one Ray.
The only reason I have XM is for the Bone Yard. Otherwise, I can just listen to my MP3 player. Thinking about dropping XM until Bone Yard comes back. Maybe I am stupid for getting XM for primarily one channel…
Wow. I just renewed two radios for 3 years ($600+). Other than some talk radio, I listen to the BoneYard exclusively.
See ya, XM, I can put that $600 a lot of other places.
I know how you feel. I was pretty outraged when I first learned of the news. I rarely listen to anything else on XM, as The Boneyard is a great station. No need to change the channel, unless they play a song I don’t care for. (That doesn’t happen often).
Very stupid move by XM Radio in my opinion.
There are plenty of channels that could have gone away besides the Boneyard. How about dropping 27,28,or 29? I’m sure they have less listeners. How come XM’s site has no mention of this change? If it had not of been for Eddie Trunk I still would not know. What a stupid move by a bunch of BONEHEADS! Way to go! Make your stock get even less than the .26 it is today!
