QUEENSRŸCHE Saves “the Ball”
There is a change to the bill for KISW‘s annual Holiday Hangover Ball, to be held this Friday, December 12, 2008 at Showbox SoDo in Seattle, Washington. Original headliners SALIVA who were scheduled to play, have been forced to cancel due to an unexpected health scare of lead singer Josey Scott.
In following with the annual tradition of delivering the Northwest’s best holiday party, KISW was forced to come up with a replacement for SALIVA.QUEENSRŸCHE will come to the rescue and take the stage at this year’s event. Ticketholders will be treated to a rare acoustic set with members ofQUEENSRŸCHE plus Duff McKagan‘s (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N’ ROSES) LOADED and JET BLACK STARE along with all the other fun and excitement you’ve come to expect at a KISW Holiday Hangover Ball.
The organizers state: “If you have purchased tickets to see SALIVA at theHoliday Hangover Ball, DON’T LOSE YOUR TICKET. SALIVA will return to Seattle when Josey‘s health permits, and your 2008 HHB ticket will get you entrance to that show for free. You essentially will be able to enjoy both this year’s Holiday Hangover Ball and a SALIVA show for the price of the ticket you purchased.”
We know you join us in wishing Josey a speedy recovery, and thanking Queensryche for stepping up and helping save the day.

Official statement from Saliva management:
We’re regretful to announce that Saliva will not be able to perform at KISW’s 2008 Holiday Hangover due to an unexpected health scare of lead singer Josey Scott. He was hospitalized Monday evening due to an irregular heartbeat. The band was scheduled to depart for the nationally syndicated radio show Rockline when Scott noticed a fluttering in his heart that didn’t seem right. The paramedics were called and he was taken to a local hospital where he spent the next four nights. His diagnosis was cardiac arrhythmia, which in some cases can be life threatening. His heartbeat was stabilized Wednesday afternoon and is under doctor’s orders for several days of no travel and rest. The band prides themselves to be a hard working act who has rarely ever missed a performance. They apologize to the fans in the Seattle area for this unfortunate situation. There will definitely be a make up show in 2009.
