Sideburn – Cherry Red (Release Year – 2008)
Switzerland’s Sideburn has been dishing out hard rock music since the 90′s. Shame on me, for not checking them out before now. Their new CD, “Cherry Red” is a rocking affair that will likely appeal to fans of AC/DC, Airbourne, Rose Tattoo and Rhino Bucket.
Opening track “Gimme The Way” is an upbeat rocker that immediately gets “Cherry Red” firing on all cylinders. (Check it out in the video below!)
“Six Feet Under” is a catchy tune that will likely have you wanting to crack open one of your favorite adult beverages. Pierrehumbert growls in this song are reminiscent of those by Udo Dirkschneider from Accept.
If the rock and roll gods were kind, “Cherry Red” would be an instant hit for Sideburn. This song flat out rocks!
“Ghost of 1980″ is the coolest ode to Bon Scott since Million Dollar Reload’s “The Last Icon”.
Roland Pierrehumbert has a course voice that reminds me a lot of RATT front man Stephen Pearcy. His voice works well Sideburn’s style of pub rock.
Sideburn has released a real winner of a disc, with “Cherry Red”. This disc is full of unpretentious, no frills hard rock. Just the way I like it!
If you are a fan of any of the bands I mentioned above, you need to hear this disc. You can purchase the Mp3 downloads of Cherry Red here, or the CD, through CDBaby.com. You can preview songs off of Cherry Red at ReverbNation!
