That Metal Show – VH1 Classic’s new metal-themed 30-minute talk show hosted by Eddie Trunk – will be featuring Boston rockers EXTREME on February 18th. The band are extending a special, complimentary ticket offer to fans. Email thatmetalshow@gothamcasting.com for more info.

The band’s first studio album in thirteen years, “Saudades de Rock” (pronounced “sow-dodge”) was released in the U.S. on August 12, 2008 on Open E Records and distributed by Fontana. The European version of the CD, which came out on August 1, includes a bonus track, the “Americocaine” demo from 1985, the very first studio recording of the band. The new album sold 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 78 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD entered the UK chart at position No. 80.

The iconic rock foursome — vocalist Gary Cherone, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Pat Badger and new drummer Kevin Figueiredo — recorded their fifth studio offering at NRG Studios in Los Angeles with Bettencourt at the helm as producer and mixer. “Saudades de Rock” boasts 13 tracks, including the infectious roar of “Star”, the groove-laden, swagger of “King Of The Ladies”, a raw funk rock anthem called “Learn To Love”, and the expressive ballad “Ghost”.

Extreme are planning to continue their Take Us Alive World Tour in support of the new album. Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt recently commented: “It’s not easy coming back after so long. But you gave us a hell of a welcome back party in every city and more importantly an incredible boost of confidence. We couldn’t have gone into The UK and Europe and Asia without the love that you showed for us here at home. Being the first audiences to connect with… you basically had the responsibility to get us to believe in ourselves once again. And we are deeply indebted to you. Our fans. Hopefully we can reconnect with you in the New Year to thank you in person. And once again… we haven’t forgotten about you in Australia, S. America, Canada, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and everywhere else that we will try to reach.”

“That Metal Show” features hosts Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine (“Crank Yankers”, “Inside the NFL”, “Meet The Creeps”) and Don Jamieson (“Inside The NFL”, “Dice Undisputed”, “Meet The Creeps”) discussing the latest rock news, share stories and arguing about their favorite bands. Each week they are joined by special guests who weigh in with their opinions and offer their own unique viewpoints to each episode.
