SNEW – SNEW YOU (Release Year – 2008)
AC/DC, and Jackyl are just two of many bands I would consider amongst my favorites. Hollywood, California’s SNEW somehow manages to tap into the sounds of these bands, to deliver one hellaciously good hard rock disc, “SNEW YOU”.
If you are still sitting in your chair by the time the opening cut, “Stand Up High” is done, either your headphones are broke, or the battery died in your Miracle ear. “SNEW YOU” starts off with this awesome stadium anthem that will make you throw your fist in the air, and scream “HELL YEAH” at the top of your lungs. The rock doesn’t stop there either.
“SNEW YOU” relentlessly pounds your senses with nine more hard rock tunes after this killer opening cut. You won’t find any wimpy power ballads on this CD. This disc rocks hard from beginning to end. I couldn’t find a bad song in the bunch.
If you are looking for highly original sounding tunes, you probably won’t find them on “SNEW YOU”. I thought a couple of songs sounded quite similar to some AC/DC tunes, but I wasn’t bothered by that aspect of SNEW’s music one bit. I have been enjoying every song on this disc, and hit repeat once it is done. My only disappointment with this CD, is that I didn’t hear this disc sooner.
Don’t think for a second that the sound quality is going to be off, because this disc isn’t on a major label, that simply isn’t the case here. This disc has good songs, with a production effort that rivals those of the big labels.
