Indecent Exposure with Lynam?
Lynam posted the following update on their blog today:
Woah, so we’ll explain what happened last night real quick since we’re getting flooded with comments and emails. Towards the end of last night’s performance at Planet Rock in Battle Creek, Michigan Jacob saw a group of young ladies sitting down at a table away from the stage.
He called them out and told them to come be a part of the rock show that was going on. The smiled and stayed put. He then announced that if they didn’t come be a part of the rock show that he was going to be forced to strip down into his underwear, come down off of the stage and grind on them; bringing the “show” to them, if you will.
They quickly jumped up and came to the stage. We played a song. After that song, they went back down to their table and sat down.
Jacob announced at that time that he’s a man of his word. He began taking off his clothes. He strips down to his undies and goes down to the table and we play a song while Jacob stands in front of them in his underwear.
No big deal, right?
WRONG!
The club owners have a come apart. I mean, to say they were furious would be the understatement of the year. They’re standing around him with their hands on their hips shaking their head “no” and pointing towards the door of the club.
The prank only lasted, at most, 30 seconds. Jacob then immediately went back up to the stage, put his clothes back on and continued on with the show, playing our last song.
I could see from my drum set that the club owners were still furious. They were pacing the floor, going up to security staff, pointing at the band then pointing at exit signs.
I knew this didn’t look good. So we finish our last song and end the show. I come down off of the drum riser thinking that they were irritated but not infuriated and p-nut, our sound man runs up and notifies us that we have been ordered to “get our shit and get out of here.”
My tongue hits the floor. “NO FKING WAY!” I said.
“Yes way dude. She said that we can get our shit and get out of here and that what we did was completely inappropriate and that we’re not getting paid and we can get our shit and get out of this club.”
So Jacob, trying to diffuse the situation, goes and apologizes to one of the club owners. She refuses to accept his apology and reitterates her orders of get your shit and get out of my club.
So, we did. At the end of the night she told the two other bands on the bill that she wasn’t paying us. The other two bands are kind enough to send us our money but folks, please … be forewarned … if you ever go to Planet Rock to spend your hard earned money, you’d better be on your best behavior. I know it says everywhere on the club’s website that they’re a rock bar but … NO FUNNY BUSINESS. Do not expect a sense of humor about anything. We can hardly take this situation serious. I mean, after all, his cock wasn’t flopping out and hitting the ladies in the face. HE WISHES!
The ladies thought it was halarious and thoroughly enjoyed the show.
We wish we could say the same for the owners of Planet Rock.
We hope they’ll one day loosen up and see last night’s show for what it was.
People come to shows to be entertained and we feel we provided that for an hour.
To be completely fair, the owners of this club were the nicest people we’d ever met up until showtime. Jacob “Vanilla Scarecrowe” certainly didn’t make any headway towards a return visit to Planet Rock for Lynam.
PLANET ROCK
And that’s …
THE REST OF THE STORY!
