Multi-platinum Grammy-nominated rock sensation Papa Roach has been scorching stages across the globe in support of their new release and fifth studio album Metamorphosis, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard Album Chart. Rolling Stone calls the album “hard-riffing and accessible” and Billboard lauds it as “polished and wide-ranging.” The band, which is Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar) and Tony Palermo (drums), is fresh off a European run of sold out headlining and festival dates and will kick off their tour with fellow powerhouse Nickelback on July 10th at Darien Lake, NY.
In celebration of their 10 years of success, fans are treated to a decade of hit songs such as Top Ten multi-format smashes like “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved” during the electrifying live shows. Hit Parader raves, “Papa Roach’s live energy is like a pack of wild horses — unbridled and uncontainable.”
Shaddix explains, “Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out and bring our music to fans all over the world.”
In addition to packing arenas, Papa Roach set the airwaves ablaze with Metamorphosis’ first single, the #1 Rock radio track, “Lifeline,” with second single “I Almost Told You That I Loved You” – which People Magazine called a “raunchy highlight” – fast on its heels climbing the charts.
The video for “Lifeline” shot by director Chris Sims (Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Eat World) was the #1 most played on Fuse and the #1 rock video on MTV2. The clip underscores the dire state of the global economy, which the band saw coming back in February 2008 when they were writing the album.
“While we were writing Metamorphosis, the band was very aware of the grave issue of our economy’s downward spiral,” says Shaddix. “It was literally right in front of us in my hometown of Sacramento with houses foreclosing and families left out in the cold, which inspired me to write the lyrics to ‘Lifeline.’ Other tracks on the album such as ‘Change or Die,’ ‘Had Enough’ and ‘March Out Of The Darkness’ also tap into the struggles so many people are facing in these difficult economic times.”
Papa Roach has been very active in support of Sacramento-based charity Loaves And Fishes, which helps the city’s homeless get food and shelter. Shaddix explains, “Sacramento has given so much to me and my band over the years, and the time is now to take care of each other.”

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the worldwide release of the LYNCH MOB come back studio album entitled “Smoke And Mirrors” to be released on September 18th in Europe and October 13th in the USA.
After seventeen long years singer Oni Logan and guitar wizard George Lynch found their way back together and again show their amazing abilities in some killer new Hard Rock songs.” I would say this new record “Smoke and Mirrors”, is the record we should have put out as a follow up to “Wicked Sensation”…better late then never I guess...”, says Lynch presenting the new record.
Lynch Mob were formed by George Lynch, one of the few genuine guitar heroes of substance to emerge from the Los Angeles scene, after DOKKEN split up in 1989. The band’s first album” Wicked Sensation” went on to sell over 500,000 units in the US and featured the talents of singer Oni Logan, Anthony Esposito on bass and another former DOKKEN member Mick Brown on drums. After a tour in support of Queensryche, Logan opted out, with Robert Mason taking his place on the follow up self titled release. However Lynch and Brown eventually returned to Dokken releasing 2 studio albums until he left again in late 1997 putting together a several new incarnations of Lynch Mob and exploring new sounds with different projects.
However Oni Logan and George Lynch would found themselves again in a studio in the summer of 07. “We weren’t sure what was going to happen” recalls George, “but as soon as I heard what Oni was coming up with just off the top of his head, I knew the old chemistry was still there. So we spent many months writing. The first batch of songs had almost a Southern Rock feel to them and there was quite a bit of acoustic and slide work on those. They also had a genuine 70′s vibe. These first songs had elements reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Stones and it was all very bluesy. We lived with those songs for a while then went in and did a second round of collaboration. We had tightened up as a band after touring over the summer and we consciously wrote the newer material with the “Wicked Sensation” record in mind. So we updated the earlier songs a little and wrote a few more “adventurous” track and went in to start recording”.
Joining the new line-up are bassist Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy) and drummer Scott Coogan (Brides of Destruction, Ace Frehley). More than a band, this team is guaranteed to create one of the most explosive shows you can ever experience and shines big time on the brand new recording which is set to bring back Lynch Mob on the map of the most exciting Hard Rock bands around! “Marco Mendoza is literally a gift from Heaven” continues Lynch. “How they figured out how to stuff all that talent and goodness into one person I’ll never know. they must have made a mistake at the factory! lol… then there’s Scott Coogan on drums…. baby of the band.. he’s very solid, very “Bonhamesque”. not sure if that’s a real word!”
“Smoke and Mirrors” tracklisting includes:
21st Century Man, Smoke and Mirrors, Lucky Man, My Kind Of Healer, Time Keepers, Revolution Hero, Let The Music Be Your Master, The Fascist, Where Do You Sleep at Night?, Madly Backwards, We Will Remain, Before I Close My Eyes, Mansions In The Sky (Bonus Track).
Lynch Mob are ready to embark on a World Tour in the fall 2009 to follow up on the successful performance at the ROCKLAHOMA 2008 and to promote “Smoke and Mirrors”. “We have been expecting to go out in a support situation with a bigger act in the fall of 09 to coincide with the release of “Smoke and Mirrors” and were also expecting to visit Europe as well. It’s been way too long since I’ve played Europe and we need to tour there extensively… last time Lynch Mob toured Europe was with Queensryche… and I think that was 1991!” concludes George Lynch.
Get back to real Rock with Lynch Mob new album “Smoke and Mirrors” !

Outlett has released a video for their cover of the Pat Benatar classic, “Invincible”.

Typically, I don’t like cover discs, and I usually I like tribute CD’s even less. In most cases songs are often watered down, and rarely live up the originals. For this reason, I missed “Welcome To the Nightmare – An All Star Salute To Alice Cooper” when it was released back in 2005. As luck has it, I stumbled across this lost gem by accident, which I heard the Vince Neil and Mick Mars cover of “Cold Ethyl”. After hearing this song, I had to see this CD out. Man oh mercy, am I glad I did!
To say that this CD has an All Star cast is probably the understatement of the year. The sheer amount of talent on this CD is absolutely insane. On vocals you will find Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Phil Lewis, Dee Snider, Joe Elliott, Roger Daltrey, Vince Neil, Don Dokken, Dave Mustaine, and Glen Hughes. On guitar you will find, Marty Friedman, George Lynch, Mick Mars, John Norum, Zakk Wylde, Phil Collen, Adrian Smith, Slash, Paul Gilbert and Billy Duffy. Iced Earth, and Icarus Witch also complement this roster with their full band versions of the Alice Cooper classics. Amazingly, this is only a portion of the incredible talent on this disc.
What does all of this talent add up to? One cool cover CD, with some great songs that possibly one up, the iconic shock rocker they are meant to be a tribute to. The Vince Neil/Mick Mars version of “Cold Ethyl”, could easily work as a Motley Crue cover. This kick ass tune is far from the lone highlight on the CD though.
Dio howls on “Welcome to My Nightmare”, Phil Lewis and George Lynch knocks “Billion Dollar Babies” out of the park. The Joe Elliott/Phil Collen version of “Under My Wheels” could have easily been on the Def Leppard cover CD, “Yeah!”. It is better than some of the songs they released on that disc. The Icarus Witch version of “Roses on White Lace” was far better than I expected it to be. The only major disappoint to me on this disc, was Children of Bodom’s version of “Bed of Nails” that I found a little too screechy for my tastes.
As a whole, this CD rocks and I keep hitting replay, which is the sign of a great CD! “Welcome To the Nightmare” has give me all new respect for these Alice Cooper classics.
All of this great music was cool enough, but as a bonus, my copy came in a really cool, blood red, textured digipak. Very cool indeed!
You can snag copies of this CD, dirt cheap at this link. If you are an Alice Cooper fan, I highly recommend it. All others rockers ought to give this one shot. You will love it! Highly Recommended!

MÖTLEY CRÜE’s summer festival tour, Crüe Fest 2, recently announced a partnership with Monster Energy to add an additional stage at this year’s festival.
The new Monster Energy Stage doubles the entertainment value at Crüe Fest 2 with five extra bands showcasing the next generation of rock, including one local band in each tour market. The performances on the Monster Energy Stage will be staggered between main stage acts creating a non-stop music event and adding to the overall festival atmosphere. With no change in ticket prices, rock fans will be given the opportunity to see ten great rock bands for the price of one.
The bands that are scheduled to perform on the Monster Energy Stage are as follows:
16 SECOND STARE
A local band will be chosen by the presenting radio station in each market contributing to the legacy of rock bands on the tour. The chosen band will open the Monster Energy Stage for a dedicated and Crüe Fest 2-sized crowd.
“It’s always been in our hearts to turn our fans onto new rock music. A second stage seems to be just what the doctor ordered for Crüe Fest 2 and gives loyal CRÜE and rock fans more for their hard earned money. See ya there,” said MÖTLEY CRÜE’s Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee.
Monster Energy has dedicated its brand to live music over the years as part of major national and international festivals, specialty concert tours and substantial one-offs, in both core sponsor and associate sponsor categories utilizing on-site activation through multiple avenues. The partnership with Crüe Fest 2 marks the first time Monster Energy will have a mobile stage dedicated entirely to their brand.
“MÖTLEY CRÜE is such an iconic band with the most loyal fans in the world. In a time where it seems everything is being cut back, MÖTLEY CRÜE is giving more to its fans and at the same time giving up and coming bands exposure. Monster Energy is proud to be a part of the havoc that will be wreaked across the nation this summer,” says Brent Hamilton of Monster Energy.
The main stage at the Live Nation produced Crüe Fest 2 stars MÖTLEY CRÜE and features GODSMACK, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, DROWING POOL, and introduces CHARM CITY DEVILS. The sequel to last summer’s most successful touring festival begins its North American trek in Camden, New Jersey on July 19 and comes to an end on September 5 in Darien Lake, NY.
