LITA FORD HITS THE TOUR TRAIL WITH SUPPORT FROM HER FAMILY

Kick Ass Comeback Album, Wicked Wonderland, Soon to Follow With Lita’s highly anticipated first album in nearly fourteen years set to be unleashed on October 6th, Wicked Wonderland, the queen of metal has been wowing audiences all summer long with live dates – primarily in Europe. But come the fall, the U.S. will receive its first full-on set of live Lita dates. “They’ve been incredible!,” says Lita about the performances thus far. “Everyone has treated us so good. The energy is intense – the audience is a very important part of the show.” While some rockers are surrounded by assistants and hangers-on to take care of their daily duties, Lita has opted to take her home life on the road, where she is joined by her husband, former Nitro singer Jim Gillette, and their two sons, James and Rocco (age twelve and eight, respectively). Just what is at typical day for Lita, Jim, and the kids? “Bad food – it isn’t mom’s – plane rides, airport fun…isn’t security a blast now? Then there was the bomb threats in Sweden, but hey, the bomb sniffing dogs were cute!” Despite the audiences’ unfamiliarity with the Wicked Wonderland material beforehand, it’s been fitting in perfectly amongst all the classics. “There are a few songs that have to be played live, like ‘Close My Eyes,’ ‘Kiss Me Deadly,’ ‘Hungry,’ and ‘Back to the Cave.’ But the new stuff is so much fun to play – it’s so freakin’ heavy! We’re very excited for everyone to hear the new stuff. It rocks hard. We’ve been playing ‘Crave’ and ‘Betrayal’ [off of Wicked Wonderland]. The reaction has been overwhelming. By the second or third chorus, everyone’s singing along.”
And how does it feel for Lita to finally be hitting the concert trail once more? “It’s wonderful. I’ve been blessed in so many ways, and one of them is my fans. They’re so good to me. Some bands have what I call ‘fair weather fans’ – they’re there when there’s a hit, and gone when there isn’t. That’s never been the case for me. My fans have been there through all the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that’s what makes them so great. When we play ‘Close My Eyes’ it’s amazing – the crowd sings so loud I can’t hear them over my guitar! The energy I get from them is incredible. Recording is fun but playing live is the best. It’s always been my favorite part of all this. I’ve been on stage since I was 16 years old – it’s a big part of who I am. It feels like home to me.” Soon, Lita’s rabid stateside fans will get the chance to experience her royal metallic majesty on a concert stage nearby. “Our show is all about forgetting everything and just having fun. There’s enough bad news on TV. If you want to just let it all hang out and rock like there’s no tomorrow – come out to a show.”
