Megadeth has released the artwork for their brand new CD, Endgame. While Vic Rattlehead is obviously missing, it still looks pretty cool. Endgame will hit U.S. Stores September 15th.

JANUS–David Scotney (vocals), Johnny Salazar (percussion), Alan Quitman (bass), Mike Tyranski (guitar/programming)–will be releasing their debut album, RED RIGHT RETURN, September 22 on REALID Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
The album’s first single, “Eyesore,” has already been added to Rock radio stations nationwide including Q101/Chicago, WJJO/Madison, WWBN/Flint, KXFX/Santa Rosa, and KISW/Seattle. A video for the track—directed by Noah Shulman (Sleepless City Productions)–will make its world premiere on AOL’s “Noisecreep” (www.noisecreep.com) on Thursday, July 30.
JANUS’ music was previously featured on such TV shows as MTV’s “Road Rules,” “The Real World,” and “Bad Girls Club” and NBC’s “The Science of Love.”
RED RIGHT RETURN is a collection of ten seamlessly flowing tracks that showcase the band’s ability to bring the Rock world an intelligent fresh sound. JANUS’ debut harkens back to the days when albums were written as a total piece of work, as opposed to a group of single songs. The Chicago natives recorded, produced, created all the themes, digital presence, and artwork on their own. Lyrically, the songs have very strong universal underpinnings to real life experiences. While they tell a particular story, the end result is left open to interpretation and the listener is free to draw their own conclusions.
JANUS uses a broad range of dynamics and instruments not often used in the Rock world (violins, cellos, timpani drums, a full choir, air raid sirens and a glockenspiel) to produce a sound of melodic, ethereal backdrops grounded in aggressive, heavy, rhythms.
In an early review of RED RIGHT RETURN, Absolutepunk.net raved: “There are a few bands, given the opportunity, could take the radio by storm. JANUS is a perfect example of this type of band. If they were given the chance, and played on some larger radio stations alongside all of our alternative ‘favorites’ (sound-alikes), they could earn themselves hordes of fans.” While Away-team.com hailed in a 9 out of 10 album review: “Brilliant on many levels and impeccably engineered and produced to perfection.”
JANUS will be on the road non-stop throughout the remainder of 2009, and well into 2010, to promote RED LIGHT RETURN. The first batch of dates includes shows with Sevendust and Chevelle, as well as various radio stations festival appearances. Check them out at any of the following shows:

Steel Panther are audacious frontman Michael Starr, who together with, Stix Zadinia on drums, Satchel on guitar, and bassist Lexxi Foxx ignite audiences from every walk of life with their unbridled valentine that goes right for the jugular of the heavy metal repertoire. The four member band, known for their outrageous stage presence and gargantuan guitar riffs have been entertaining fans and scores of rock and entertainment VIPs with their raucous antics via L.A.’s longest running heavy metal show on the Sunset Strip for nearly a decade (now running at the infamous Key Club every Monday night). The band also holds residencies at the Green Valley Resort and Casino on Friday and Aliante Resort on Saturday in Las Vegas.
The band recently wowed UK audiences with a tent busting performance at Download festival, which was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated debut performances by a band whose album hadn’t even come out! The UK trip’s crowing glory was a headline show at the 229 club in London which will go down in history as a triumph for the return of heavy metal!
The venue changes for the band’s September shows are as follows
SUNDAY 13th – BIRMINGHAM O2 ACADEMY 2
MONDAY 14th – MANCHESTER ACADEMY 2 (formerly Club Academy)
TUESDAY 15th – GLASGOW GARAGE (formerly G2)
WEDNESDAY 16th – LONDON 02 SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE (formerly Electric Ballroom)
Tickets on sale now, priced at £11 regionally and £13.50 in London and are available from http://www.livenation.co.uk
With critics raving that their sold-out brand of ‘unmistakable roaring rock’ has put the fun back in music, the band also carries their unvarnished sense of excess over to their website http://www.steelpantherrocks.com or their myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/steelpantherkicksass – which embodies another stirring quality of Steel Panther – truth in advertising.
In celebration of their new release, Tri-Polar, Sick Puppies and Hard Rock Hideout are giving you a chance to win a 32” Flat Screen TV and 8.0 megapixel camera phone, brought to you by Samsung Mobile™, Rock Prophecies and Virgin Records!

I don’t typically review too many greatest hits collections at Hard Rock Hideout, as they rarely offer music fans anything new, other than a song or two.
I have been a fan of Danger Danger for years, but I must admit that I didn’t keep up with Ted Poley’s solo career after he left that band. This greatest hits collection is a cool career retrospective for Poley. It covers music from his solo project Poley/Pichler, Bone Machine, Melodica, Poley/Rivera, JK Northrup and more. There are also a few unreleased demos & songs. Many of the songs on this CD, I have listened to for the very first time, and I am surprised just how good some of this stuff really is.
Some of my favorites include the Journey like “Deep Inside”, the rockin’ “Simple Life”, the bluesy “Phone Sex” the hard rocker, “Luv on Me” the glam rock like “Takoyaki Rock” and the heavyiest cut “Wastin’ Your Luv”. The song “Ted Poley” is a parody of the KISS song “Unholy”. It features comedian CC Banana and Chris Caffery. It is good for a laugh or two.
Are all of the songs in this two CD set worthy of a greatest hits collection? Probably not. With over two hours of music, on the two CD’s in this set, Ted Poley’s Greatestits is a solid collection of tunes that will not disappoint two many melodic rock fans. This probably could have been shortened down to one CD, but with 33 new tracks at my disposal, I won’t complain too much.
You can score a copy of this 2 CD set at TedPoley.com, and CDInzane.com.
