Rest in Peace JIMMY “THE REV” SULLIVAN

Avenged Sevenfold posted the following on their blog today:
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy’s family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Jimmy you are forever in our hearts.
We love you.

M Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance and Johnny Christ

Best Wishes go out to Avenged Sevenfold, and their friends and families.

  1. Jimmy was la father figure to me and im still hartbroken by the tragic event. I cry everyday no joke even if its the best day of my life. my life has been affected so much by him and hes the one who got me into drumming. ilearned so much from him. he left with my heart. i wear my r.i.p hoodie with his face on the back everyday. nobody knows how i feel about him. i wanted to write a letter to the band about it. but i want to tell synyster gates myself when he tours in my town my mom said she would by me backstage passes and i hope he would take time out of his busy lkfe to listen. im so influenced by jimmy and i miss him so much. I love you jimmy and i miss you so much. i wish you could come back :( love always, Emma

  2. I can’t believe its pretty much been a year with James Owen Sullivan its the most tragic lost i have heard of and affected me and others in so many ways. but foREVer in our hearts and never forgotten. R.I.P.

  3. I was in FYE the other day and looked right at their CDs and wondered when a new album would be coming… Must be synergy, in my thoughts and prayers. What bothers me is that this is the second California death in as many months where someone so young and talented was taken by “natural causes.” I really believed these guys were the future of metal… dark yet fun. I hope the band can find a way to carry on in light of this tragedy. R.I.P.

  4. I had the honor of seeing “The Rev” and Avenged twice and I know that 28 years is far too short of time for this young man to achieve all that he was meant to do. Being a fan and fellow drummer watching “The Rev” was a show in itself. My thoughts and prayers to his family and bandmates. RIP James, you will be greatly missed.

  5. This is a complete shock. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family/friends of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan and to Avenged Sevenfold.

  6. R.I.P. He was one of the greatest drummers of all time and was in the greatest band ever, A7X

R.I.P. Rev you will be missed and remebered.
