New Solo Instrumental LEGIONNAIRE Out NOW on Phlamencore Records
EXCLUSIVE TO ITUNES FOR JANUARY – CD AVAILABLE FEBRUARY 1ST
Marc Rizzo once again has stepped out from his six-string tour of duty with SOULFLY and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY to deliver his new solo project, LEGIONAIRE on Phlamencore Records. This new albums reveals a phenomenal command of the guitar that Rizzo has become known for.
LEGIONNAIRE was written and recorded over a two year period, while touring worldwide with SOULFLY and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY. Having time to write this record while on the road and in between tours, Rizzo would break and get into the studio to record, then back out on the road. “I’m really excited about this record”, exclaims Rizzo. “I had a lot of time since my last record to really think about this new album. I think traveling all over the world, writing all the new material, really influenced the sound. After two U.S. solo tours in 2008, I think I really figured out what songs work well live. I’m really excited to play these new songs in front of a live audience. It’s very cool to see kids slam dancing and going off to instrumental music.”
Rizzo is touted a master musician with deep musical roots in metal, classical and flamenco guitar. His raw energy combined with the talent of a new-generation shred-master is a much needed breath of fresh air to the instrumental rock genre.

I have been wondering for years why the Sgt. Roxx EP Push N Squeeze was capturing such high dollars on Ebay over the years. This highly sought after CD, has pulled down hundreds of dollars for a single copy. Thanks to Eonian Records, I will wonder no more. Weapon of Miss Distraction has all off the songs from the hard to find EP and thirteen more (gasp!). With over 70 minutes of music on one CD, this is a great value for a hair metal fan.
The six songs from the EP are all solid tunes. They remind me a lot of another Eonian band High Noon that I am pretty fond of. The power ballad “Don’t Cry” is quite good as well. If this would have been released back in the late 80’s, the band could have had a hit with this. I got a pretty good laugh out of the tune “Alright”. This is pure hair metal cheese, but a fun song at that. “Ransom” is another kick ass rocker that I will get plenty of replay out of. I also got a kick out of “(Don’t Do) What Your Mama Sayz”.
Overall, if you are expecting to hear something new, you won’t find on Weapon of Miss Distraction. By no means are the songs on this CD worth the big money that Ebay has attracted over the years. If you are looking for some above average hair metal, then you definitely need to get this.
