DANZIG’S SIX YEAR NEW MUSIC DEARTH BROKEN WITH
DETH RED SABAOTH
Extensive Global Tour Schedule Planned for 2010
The 11-track collection, penned by Danzig, is laced with Glenn’s lycanthropic growls and blues-infected wailing. Tracks including “Black Candy,” “The Revengeful,” and the first single, “On A Wicked Night,” emit a spectral glow to rival the highest points in Danzig’s colossal discography. Part 1 of the exquisite two-part “Pyre of Souls” opens with acoustic guitar, haunting piano, Glenn’s plainsong vocal, and an almost dirge-like feel; Part II explodes with electric guitars and a driving, mesmerizing cadence.
“I think that fans will really dig this new album,” said Glenn. “I’ve been told several times that the album has a cool vitality to it, it sounds energized, and I got that feeling when I was recording it. I wanted it to have an organic sound, bigger and thicker, so I went out and bought some 1970’s Kustom tuck ‘n roll bass amps to play some of the guitar parts through. You’ll hear real reverb, real tremolo on this album, which sounds completely different than the stuff that’s done with computer chips.”
Joining Glenn in the studio for the recording of Deth Red Sabaoth were guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), a Danzig cohort on and off since 1997, and drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Seventh Void). While Kelly has toured with Glenn intermittently since 2002, this is the first time he has recorded with the band. Glenn handled the bass chores for most of the album, and played drums on “Black Candy.”
As is with all of Danzig’s releases, the CD cover artwork for Deth Red Sabaoth is provocative and ominous. The cover is an original piece created specifically for the CD by the award-winning artist Joe Chiodo whose work has graced not only Danzig’s Verotik publishing line, but the covers of numerous graphic novels and comic books, including “X-Men Unlimited.” Deth Red Sabaoth isn’t the first time one of Chiodo’s paintings has been part of a Danzig package – one of his erotic “good girl” pinups was part of 2007’s The Lost Tracks of Danzig.
Deth Red Sabaoth marks Danzig’s ninth studio venture that began back in 1988 with the Rick Rubin-produced, Platinum-certified, Danzig. A live version of his oedipal projectile “Mother,” was a major hit, and added to his iconic status that began a decade earlier when he founded the near-mythic punk band Misfits and then Samhain. Sales of ten-million albums later and having been dubbed “goth-punk’s godfather” by SPIN, Glenn Danzig is arguably the most versatile talent to emerge from hardcore’s first wave, and truly is a renaissance man – a graphic designer, photographer, comic book publisher and composer. His venture into composing and recording classical music yielded Black Aria, that debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Classical charts, and Black Aria II, that had Glenn sharing the Billboard/Classical’s Top Ten with Itzhak Perlman and Andrea Bocelli. His indelible stamp is on artists like Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails, and he has written songs that have been sung by a diverse array of artists, from Metallica to Johnny Cash.
Over his decades-long career, Glenn Danzig’s intense musical and lyrical statements have left a permanent mark on rock music, and continue to do so going into the 21st century. Glenn’s song “13,” originally written for Johnny Cash and then recorded for Glenn’s own Satan’s Child album, was the opening song in last year’s box office smash and Golden Globe winner, “The Hangover.”
Danzig – Glenn, guitarist Tommy Victor, drummer Johnny Kelly and bassist Steve Zing – also a founding member of Samhain with Glenn – plan to tour extensively to support Deth Red Sabaoth; dates will be announced shortly.
Australia’s own, Wolfmother, recently put on a special show at the Apple store in Sydney. The live performance has been made into an EP which has just been released, exclusively with iTunes. Grab your copy of the EP now, and be sure to stay tuned for the band’s newest video for “Far Away,” coming very soon.
Andrew and the guys will be heading out on a European tour in May, but in the meantime, get your Wolfmother fix with their latest album, Cosmic Egg. Also, check out their official website or MySpace for any additional information.
Hard Rock, Glam Metal, Power Pop, Hair Metal. Whatever genre of music you could tag Reckless Love with, it would probably fit. The genre doesn’t matter, but the music does, and it is quite good. When I first saw the video for Reckless Love’s “Beautiful Bomb”, I knew we might have another great CD on the way. I had no idea it would be THIS GOOD!
If you want to know why H. Oliver Twisted aka Olli Herman left Crash Diet, look no further than his own band Reckless Love. The debut of Reckless Love exceeds the last Crash Diet effort by a mile. This CD sounds like it was recorded in 1989, not 2009. The music on this CD is has a very happy sound that blends elements from all of the biggest hair metal acts of the eighties. I hear the influence of Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Poison, KISS, Van Halen and more when I listen to this disc. Reckless Love pulls this sound off, and does not sound like a cheap imitation. The band has a passion for this music, and this disc shines as a result. If you like sing along anthems with big guitar riffs, look no further. Reckless Love’s new CD is packed with infectious rockers that is going to appeal to a ton of hard rock fans.
Olli Herman’s vocals are much more enjoyable with Reckless Love, and Pepe is going to turn a lot of heads with his outstanding guitar work.
In Finland, Reckless Love have already released two singles, “Babylon Bombs” and “One More Time”. Both of these are favorites of mine, along with “Romance”, “Badass” and “Love Machine”. I won’t waste your time giving you a song by song break down. What you should know is, there isn’t a bad song on this CD. Reckless Love is as close to glam metal perfection as you are going to get in 2010.
This CD does not have an official U.S. Release date yet, but you purchase it through CD Inzane at this link. The price may be a little on the steep side, but this disc is worth every penny. Your only regret will come from not buying this CD sooner! I love this disc, and I think you will too.
If you tune into the Hard Rock Hideout Radio show tonight (3/31/10), you will hear three songs from this CD. Don’t miss it!!

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,
We are pleased to inform you that the recording of our third album has been completed. It was an amazing journey and we believe that the songs that we have created are our most inspired and dynamic work to date. We all worked very hard on these songs, over a long period of time, and we are all fiercely proud of what we have recorded. We have played some of the rough mixes of the songs to a few of our “trusted ears” and they are telling us that we have absolutely topped the Blackbird album. The true test will come when we get to hear what all you fans think and we are very much looking forward to that day
The next step in the process will be mixing, which will begin in mid-April, in New York. The mixing will probably take a few weeks and once that is finished, we will begin the difficult task of deciding which songs will make the album. The goal is to release the album in September, before our planned October tour in Europe that will start in the UK. Stay tuned here for the latest news and updates as they happen
Less than a week after Vains of Jenna dropped the bombshell that Lizzy Devine left the band, the Babylon Bombs have posted some news of their own.
Babylon Bombs lead singer and guitarist Dani is tired of touring and the music business. It’s a thing that has grown stronger the last year and he feels that he wants to focus 100% on his family. After a good talk in January we decided to put things on hold. Dani told us how he felt and that he wanted a break. It was of course tough news for the band. A break for us would mean no touring and making music so after months of difficult decisions and discussions we feel that we want to move on with a new front man. We will miss Dani and his great skills, but we have to respect that he wants to move on and we believe that he will respect us for what we stand for.
In the end we’re just a Rock ‘n Roll band and we’re longing to be out there on the road!
The band will make their last performance with Dani in Stockholm on April 10 at the Crazy Nights Rock Festival in Stockholm.
…. and about the new front man, we found him right here in Stockholm, more about that later…..!
See you out there….

Escape Music to Release “Sea of Black” from MASS on April 23rd, 2010.
Formed in 1980, this dedicated hard rock band from the Boston area has had numerous accomplishments. Most notably, they have sold over 100,000 albums worldwide and performed with great acts such as Hanoi Rocks, Molly Hatchet, Winger, Stryper, Cheap Trick, Girlschool, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Hurricane, Grim Reaper, Steven Stills and The Ramones along with many many others.
Their first self titled EP with producer Jon Mathias was recorded at The Record Plant in New York City. The EP sold over 10,000 copies in the Boston area alone, and was enough to get record companies’ attention.
In 1985, the band was signed to RCA records and released their first major label debut, “New Birth”, produced by Tony Platt. The 45 single, “Do You Love Me”, was number one for over six weeks at many radio stations along the east coast. The video for that single was also in rotation on MTV and hit Billboard’s charts. In 1987, “Mass” was signed to Enigma records and released their third album/CD, “Take You Home”, produced by John Rollo and “Mass”. This record/CD sold tens of thousands in the United States as well as England, Japan, and other countries around the world. In 1988, “Mass” released their fourth record/CD,” “Voices in the Night”, on Enigma records. Michael Sweet of the band “Stryper” was the producer. Again, this CD sold well all over the world. Songs such as “Reach for the Sky”, “Turn it all Around”, and “Voices in the Night” were available as CD singles. Songs from this CD also appeared on various compilation CD’s. That same year, “Mass” was nominated for ‘Best Heavy Metal Act’ at the Boston Music Awards.
Mass has continually worked to improve themselves and in 2007 signed with Escape Music and the result was the highly enjoyable “Crack Of Dawn” (ESM153). This release excited old fans of the band as well as attracting many new ones. Swedish producer Martin Kronlund twiddled the knobs to make this a fine sounding CD.
It’s now 2010 and the band have been working harder than ever for the new release Sea Of Black, an album that is chock full of ripping guitars and driving rhythms. Mass have always been a tight sounding four piece that have excelled in great songwriting and blinding musicianship. Once again using Martin Kronlund at the production helm what we have here is a winning formula that can only enhance their popularity. Although essentially a hard rock band Mass know how to hit the right notes with a ballad or two and they pour on the passion with ease. Astounding music…
With thirty years experience in this competitive world of rock music Mass has come shining through.

16 Second Stare Breaks New Sonic Ground as Drummer
Chris Davis Steps Out as the Band’s Lead Singer
Tearing Things Up With His Potent Vocals
With the aggressive sound of their new self-titled record, 16 Second Stare is ready to take their place in the vanguard of the international metal scene. Fueled by the ferocious vocals of Chris Davis, who stepped out from behind his drum kit to prowl the stage like a madman, and driven by the onslaught of guitarist Angry Tim Shanks, the band has been winning legions of fans with its uncompromising stage show. During the summer of 2009, on the road with Crüefest 2, 16 Second Stare showed what they were made of winning over huge crowds with their radical onslaught. Now they’re unleashing an equally radical album.
16 Second Stare took a year to make and, during that time, the band underwent a transformation. “I started singing lead and everything clicked into place,’ says singer and drummer Chris Davis. We used to think about radio play, but this time decided to go for the jugular. We’re going to get right up in your face and if people like it, that’s fine. If not, fuck’em. Shanks agrees. Anyone who’s seen us live knows we kick ass, so we decided to kick ass in the studio too. Making Chris the singer was the best move we ever made.
Standout tracks on 16 Second Stare include the current single, “Bonnie and Clyde”, a heavy stomping rocker, with the grinding guitars of Shanks complimenting the processed vocals Davis lays down over his own brutal backbeat. The shrieking harmonies of Davis and Shanks add another sinister element to the mix. Bonnie and Clyde is already being played on Sirius Satellite’s Octane channel, AOL’s Extreme Alt Rock station, and is climbing the Media Base Active Rock chart.
With Angry Tim fresh out of rehab, the band will be hitting the road to support the album, bringing along the 16 Second Models, a bevy of beauties in fishnets and high heels that will introduce the band and hang out with the fans. When we’re on stage, we rock our asses off, Angry Tim growls. If you’re not having fun at a 16 Second Stare show, there’s something seriously wrong with you.
More information on 16 Second Stare, please visit the band’s website.
Preceded by the digital only release of the single “Little Drops of Heaven”, “Pandemonium” is out on May 14th in Europe and June 8th in the USA.
Napoli, March, 2010 – Danish Dynamite Rockers Pretty Maids will release their anticipated new album “Pandemonium” on May 14th in Europe and June 8th in the USA. “Pandemonium” is the band’s 12th studio album and their first full length release over the last four years. A 90 secs. preview of the single “Little Drops of Heaven” is now available for streaming on www.prettymaids.dk and on the band’s and Frontiers myspace sites (www.myspace.com/pmaids / www.myspace.com/frontiersrecords).
Produced by Jacob Hansen (who has also worked with Volbeat, Rob Rock and Beyond Twilight between others), “Pandemonium” with its melodic approach is a definite return to the “Future World / Red Hot and Heavy” era of the eighties, but with an updated sound and freshness that consolidates that Pretty Maids are as strong as ever.
“I think this new record shows the band in its finest moment”, says singer Ronnie Atkins “that’s definitely our best effort in many years and the spirit in the band is higher than ever”.
This album also introduces keyboard player Morten Sandager as a permanent member of the band and his impact is evident on the tracks of the cd, particularly on the hauntingly melodic new single “Little Drops of Heaven” which will be released – only as a digital download, as an exclusive teaser leading to the album’s release, on April 13th worldwide.
Written in the fall 2009 and recorded in the winter 2010, “Pandemonium” will be supported by several festival appearances during the summer of 2010 and then followed by a full scale European tour in Oct/Nov 2010.
“Pandemonium” tracklisting includes:
Pandemonium, I.N.V.U., Little Drops of Heaven, One World One Truth, Final Day of Innocence, Cielo Drive, It Comes at Night, Old Enough to Know, Beautiful Madness, Breathless, It Comes at Night (remix)*.
* Bonus track available first pressing in digipak
Ronnie Atkins – vocals
Ken Hammer – guitars
Kenn Jackson – bass
Allan Tschicaja – drums
Morten Sandager – keyboards
When you think of Thrash Metal legends, the first bands that come to mind are usually Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus and Anthrax. Old School Metal fans know… there is another extremely key player in this legendary mix of Thrash Metal originators and it is – Overkill. Going on three decades, with 15 studio albums, an EP, a covers album and 2 live albums under their legendary Thrash Metal belts, Overkill is as Metal potent as ever. Setting out to embark on their Spring North American Tour in support of their 15th studio album – “Ironbound”, original member and vocalist Bobby “The Blitz” Ellsworth cordially took the time recently to talk to Hard Rock Hideout. Here is what Bobby had to say:
HRH: What were the thoughts of Overkill going in to record Ironbound?
Bobby: There was a newer energy within the band, we came in right off the road to assemble Ironbound. The unseen hand or the x-factor was the energy we felt in the studio. It was business as usual, still we were feeling something special while recording Ironbound, this afforded us the luxury of coming together so quickly as musicians and finishing this album.
HRH: Ironbound is on the E1 Music label, are you committed to a defined number of albums with them?
Bobby: Yeah, 100 albums! (laughs)
HRH: (laughs) You know Bobby, at the rate Overkill has been going over the years, that is not far fetched!
Bobby: Two more records with E1 Music here, with Nuclear Blast for the rest of the world.
HRH: I actually feel Ironbound is one of the best Overkill albums ever.
Bobby: Thanks, that’s quite a compliment! After 15 albums and over 25 years of Overkill, we are concentrating on today and this Ironbound album and tour. The beauty of Overkill is you know what to expect, yet it is different with each album. Ironbound has teeth, energy and the x-factor, there’s turns at every angle. Ironbound is rooted in what Overkill has been doing since we first became a band and what we are doing today. This album gives you the best of both worlds.
HRH: Where can we catch Overkill on tour this Spring, any updates?
Bobby: We begin our tour on April 1st, in Philadelphia at The Trocadero and on May 1st in New York City, (Nokia Theater in Times Square), it finishes. Coming out to see us live is to really experience Overkill!
Bobby: Not necessarily, I write abstractly. “Endless War” is a little bit more personal and abstract, yet it relates across the board. One man’s cross doesn’t outweigh another man’s cross. This song can apply to what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan and real life at home. I make comments socially and politically when I write. Ironbound screams louder in the dark, the angst and chaos is valid emotion on Ironbound. I have had over sixteen records to cleanse myself!
HRH: “The Goal Is Your Soul”, can the lyrical content here be representative of white collar crime on Wall Street?
Bobby: Not necessarily, it’s more of a comment on right wing and fanatic Christian and Muslim religions. Organized religion is dangerous, it creates an army in it’s own right. There is danger in the word organized. Organized religion is very follower based. You can also interpret it as the enemy is right here, every day with politics.
HRH: Overkill is arguably the most consistent Thrash Metal band in history, based on album releases and touring. Was an old school work ethic instilled in you at an early age?
Bobby: I think so, it’s my background as a person. DD, (bass guitarist and founding member), and I were raised as such, with a “you want then work for it” discipline. It’s the principals and values of Overkill from the very beginning that has led us here. Doing more and giving your all is the premise this band works on. We always tweak it up, year after year. Our strong work ethic, helps in getting us to go through the artistic torture of making albums for so long, being a band and touring.
HRH: Two words to throw at you, use a free style way to convey your thoughts about them please. Punk Rock.
Bobby: Unbridled energy. Punk Rock has always been the x-factor in Overkill. We started our band covering Punk Rock songs! The Dead Boys, Ramones and Sex Pistols are all influences. The Punk Rock influence is what gives Overkill that different angle that other bands don’t have.
HRH: From “Relix IV”, I love “Old School”, it has that Punk Rock sound and feel.
Bobby: It’s a great song, it’s been a live staple on our set list ever since we released Relix IV.
HRH: What peer band would Overkill take to battle with?
Bobby: There are plenty of us that are cut from the same cloth. Exodus. Overkill and Exodus hold a lot of the same principals. There’s still competition there, yet when we toured together it brought out the best in both bands on stage.
HRH: Are we experiencing a Thrash Metal revival or has Thrash Metal never gone away to begin with?
Bobby: It never went away! Overkill has been doing this straight since 1985. There is a resurgence in popularity with great young bands like Warbringer, Gamma Bomb and Bonded By Blood. Plus, Overkill is also recruiting younger fans with Ironbound in 2010.
HRH: Over the years, what moment truly defined Overkill as being resilient to outside forces?
Bobby: Overkill is special, we always have been able to put ourselves as people ahead of the band. I have known DD for thirty years, our friendship is amazing. In Overkill, “you” come first, not your writing. Overkill is a team, we are more so real about life, instead of business.
HRH: If you could have any famous musical guest on your next Overkill album, who would it be?
Bobby: I’d like to do a duet with Ronnie James Dio. That would be a lot of fun! Lemmy too, (Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead). Lemmy and I sang live together once onstage, it was a lot of fun.
HRH: “Coverkill” is a great tribute to many legendary bands and their songs. What are the chances of there ever being a Coverkill II?
Bobby: I’m not thinking in those terms now. There is a possibility, of course, that it could be done. Since Coverkill, we have covered some new and different songs, Eric Burdon and The Animals and Johnny Cash are just a couple of examples. Still, I think in terms of the day instead of the future, it’s more about the now.
HRH: “Promises” on “From The Underground And Below”, (1997 album), I really like. Is there another ballad in the future for Overkill?
Bobby: I don’t think so. This song was written due to the death of a very close friend. I was able to cleanse the soul through these lyrics. It was necessary for me to get rid of the sadness I was feeling because of this loss. It is real emotion that you hear on “Promises”, not contrived emotion. That song was not the norm for us, then again, it was not the norm for us to be in that situation to write that song either. It’s life, an opportunity to express that emotion I was feeling on a higher level. “Promises” is a testimonial to someone’s life is a way to explain it.
Bobby: They can handle alcohol! Really, the idea of alcohol is part of someone’s life at a younger age in Europe, not so in America. Shit can happen in the U.S., one hundred thousand people will create assaults in the U.S., there’s nothing like that over in Europe. I was at a festival right here in New Jersey last year, there were people arrested for assaulting a police officer! That’s pretty bad when the police start getting assaulted at Rock festivals here. The festivals in Europe are well organized, big beer sponsors are needed and Europe has them. Insurance costs for festivals can dictate why the U.S. doesn’t go for them too.
HRH: What is your favorite Overkill album and why?
Bobby: Horrorscope from ’91. It’s the first album DD and I wrote together. I can’t look at Ironbound as being my favorite because it is new, I need to let it sit with me for about a year.
HRH: One of my favorite Overkill albums too, I love “Frankenstein”.
Bobby: Yeah, that’s a good one! DD has a running joke that Frankenstein is the best song I’ve ever sung on! (laughs)
HRH Note: “Frankenstein” is an instrumental.
HRH: Throughout the years, what tour sticks in your mind the most?
Bobby: Motorhead 1988 and 2007. Growing up a Motorheadbanger, the excitement to meet and tour with a band that I looked up to was incredible. We covered their songs in cover bands and now we’re on tour with Motorhead! In Europe, on the 2007 tour with Motorhead, Lemmy asked me to sing onstage with him! That was just a positive experience! Here we were in 2007, nineteen years after the first tour together and Motorhead is just as nice a group of guys as they were when we first met them.
HRH: Is The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame useful or useless?
Bobby: Useful, I was able to carve my name into the bathroom stall wall there with my pocket knife! (laughs)
Bobby: It’s very cool. There are different things in Rock and Roll to be recognized. It’s an avant-garde answer to what music was in the 1950’s. It’s Rock and Roll history and it’s a necessity to bring forth this history to the public.
HRH: I feel Motorhead belongs in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Bobby: They will be someday.

I recently reacquainted myself with the 1992 Great White CD, Psycho City. I wondered if any videos were released in support of the CD, and was surprised to find a clip for “Love Is A Lie”. I don’t recall ever seeing this video when this CD first came out. Psycho City was released towards the end of the hair metal era, and I am guessing this song/video got very little airplay. Check it out!
VAINS OF JENNA introduce new lead vocalist Jesse Forte.
It was just 10 days ago that VAINS OF JENNA announced the departure of their long time friend, Swedish comrade and vocalist Lizzy DeVine. However, it’s a new day, change is now and we are proud to introduce to you Jesse Forte the new lead singer and front man for VAINS OF JENNA.
Jesse Forte was raised in Orange County California and comes from a musical back ground. He attended music school at MI, played in a slew of bands since a teenager and even admits he pan-handled on the corner playing guitar for money. Jesse says: “I am a performer first. Whether it be 5 people, or 5,000 – I am embrace that opportunity to sing and play music.” The bands newest member was born in Arkansas but moved to the West Coast at a very young age. Eventually Hollywood’s music scene came calling and Jesse started killing and thrilling crowds on the Sunset Strip.
“We first saw Jesse in 2009 when his band opened for us at the ‘Cat Club’. And he blew us away.” Says VAINS OF JENNA co-founder and bassist JP White. Jesse is unique for sure. Imagine Steven Tyler’s charisma and Chris Cornell’s voice mixed in a blender with a pair of nunchakus – and you get Jesse Forte. The bands new voice has studied the martial arts since his youth.
The Swedish rockers have had lots of success during their young career in the states. So, this was no doubt a big blow – but the band refused to lay down and die. “It’s not in my blood to stop doing what I started. I love music, I live music, and this is what I do.” Says Nicki Kin the bands key song writer and multi instrumentalist. Kin plays lead guitar, piano and has in the last year; even shared some lead vocal duty in VAINS OF JENNA. The band has lived the American dream by touring on the biggest of stages, appearing on the hippest TV shows, and gracing the pages of countless magazines. But that was yesterday, and today is a new day. “We embrace this change, and we welcome Jesse into our family.” Says the band.
VAINS OF JENNA first burst into the music world when Kin & drummer Jacki Stone were still in High School. Gigs on the weekends, rehearsals at night and school all day. Jacki says: “Thank God that is behind us, I never liked school much and had no interest to be a factory worker. I pursued music very early and have no plans to quit.” The youngest and self taught drummer has been playing in bands with Kin since they were in the 4th grade. Stone’s brother White has this outlook: “We’re not a Hollywood band or a Swedish band either. We’re just a rock band. We want to see the world. And I speak for all of us when I say – we cannot wait for the world to see us.”
The bands brand new single with Jesse Forte singing “Everybody Loves You When You’re Dead” on the MySpace. Play it now – video coming soon.
VAINS OF JENNA headline the “WHISKY-A-GO-GO” Saturday April 10th 2010 in Hollywood, California. A European Tour follows with dates booked in Norway, Sweden, England, Wales, Italy & more.

Free Reign, a heavy metal band featuring hulking Dallas Cowboys offensive linemen Marc Colombo, Leonard Davis and Cory Proctor along with guitarist Justin Chapman, will serve as the Grand Marshals of the Rattlesnake 150 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards race and give the starting command to the field. In addition, one member of the group will serve as the Honorary Starter and wave the green flag from the flag stand to start the Rattlesnake 150. Free Reign is visiting as special guests of ARCA driver Joey Coulter and will watch the race from his pits.
Free Reign originated with Colombo handling vocals and Procter on the drums when they jammed in the Cowboys’ locker room in 2008. Shortly after, Davis learned to play the bass and joined them, and Chapman was the final piece as he came aboard as a guitarist. Free Reign, which signed a worldwide record deal with Riot! Entertainment in Australia, has produced its debut release, “Tragedy,” and will be touring this year.

John Waite, the popular British singer/songwriter/performer who brought you immortal songs such as the smash Billboard #1 hit “Missing You”, “Change” and “When I See You Smile” (with Bad English) is back with “In Real Time” – a live album capturing the energy of his new live show and his renewed love for Rock Music.
“In Real Time” is an electrifying new live CD recorded on tour during 2009 with John Waite’s super-charged three-piece band. The album will hit stores on May 14th in Europe on Frontiers Records. Classic hits like “Change,” “Missing You,” The Babys’ “Back On My Feet Again” and “Head First”, Bad English’s “Best Of What I Got” and “When I See You Smile” and even a blistering version of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” take on entirely new lives in their raw forms on the spontaneously delicious “In Real Time”.
“It’s a lot of the hits played how we play them live,” Waite says of “In Real Time”. “It’s like late 60’s rock in London when it was performance driven, prior to becoming commercialized – back in the days when everybody got in a transit van, sat on the amps and drove for hours to the next gig. When I set out to do this record, I wanted to simplify it down to what I remember rock and roll being as a kid – a three-piece band with a singer – so it’s very raw and right on the edge.”
John Waite recorded five albums with The Babys before launching a solo career with “Ignition”, a record which spawned the MTV/rock radio staple “Change”, only to be surpassed later by one of the greatest pop/rock ballads of all time – “Missing You”.
In the late 80’s, John Waite continued his success with supergroup Bad English. Along with a succession of Billboard Hot 100 hits he achieved the #1 position, once again, with the band’s single, “When I See You Smile”.
John Waite has released nine studio albums to date and is currently writing for and working on an all new original material record expected sometime in 2010.
“In Real Time” includes the following songs:
* Bonus Track
John Waite: Lead Vox, Rhythm Guitar on “In Dreams” & “When I See You Smile”
Tim Hogan: Bass Guitar
Luis Maldonado: Lead Guitar, Backing Vox
Billy Wilkes: Drums, Backing Vox

ANEW REVOLUTION will be hitting the road on the “Economic Stimulus Tour” along side Poughkeepsie New York’s SUGAR RED DRIVE. “This tour was created as a way to give back to the cities we’re playing and their local economies. We’re going into these cities and venues and literally adding jobs. Whether it be by hiring local crew or promotion outlets, or just bringing people into the venue to in turn the spend some money to see a good show and maybe buy some merch.” says bassist Frank Salvaggio.
One of the main focuses of this tour is to create at least 2 real jobs the day of the show by hiring 2 part-time workers to help with load-in, set up, and local transportation for the bands. Salvaggio continues, “We’re also showing that even a modest touring band has to do whatever it takes to survive in these tough economic times.”
ANEW REVOLUTION also plan on keeping the ticket prices at a lower than average price of just $10 as well as donating 50% of the ticket proceeds to a local, not national, charitable cause. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/anewrevolution and http://twitter.com/anewrevolution for more info. More dates will be announced soon

ANEW REVOLUTION will release their third studio record entitled “iMERICA” on May 18th, 2010 via E1 Music. Produced by Ben Schigel, a musician, record producer and vocalist from the band SWITCHED who has produced for such bands as STEMM, DROWNING POOL, WALLS OF JERICHO, CHIMAIRA & many more. A brand new song called “Head Against The Wall” is streaming via their myspace page now [www.myspace.com/anewrevolution]. The band also just finished shooting a video for the same song in Austin, TX last week with famed director David Brodsky (GOD FORBID, THE RED CHORD, ALL THAT REMAINS, KITTIE).
Formed in Austin, Texas by singer/guitarist Joey Duenas, bassist Frank Salvaggio, drummer Rob Urbani in 2004, and later rounded out by Austin-area shredder Shaun Stockton on lead guitar, ANEW REVOLUTION stand by the promise in their name. Though they’ll happily recall the milestones set by their former bands – Duenas’ Ünloco, Urbani and Salvaggio’s Slaves on Dope, they’ll also be the first to remind you of just what ANEW REVOLUTION means.
I first noticed the band The Spittin’ Cobras in 2008 when they were in the running for the Guitar Center/ Motley Crue contest in 2008. The Last Vegas ended up winning the contest (and the opening slot on the Motley Crue tour), but there were several
good bands worth checking out that made the top six. One of those bands was The Spittin’ Cobras.
Once upon a time, Seattle was once known for its long list of depressing grunge bands. It seems as of late the bands rockin’ in Seattle are back to playing kick ass rock and roll. Just check out the bands Underride and The Spittin’ Cobras. It is refreshing to hear bands from the Emerald City playing kick ass rock n’ roll again.
One listen to this band, and you might think, who the hell are these guys? This isn’t a pimple faced band starting out. The Spittin’ Cobras have members from the bands KMFDM, The Dwarves and Murdock. Needless to say, these guys have been in the music business for a while, and they know how to rock. Their music takes the energy of punk rock, the fury of Motorhead, and blends it to excellent blast of hard rock.
Year of the Cobra is the debut of these Seattle rockers, and a damn good one at that. One word best describes this CD, “relentless”. Every song on this album is heavy and fast with blazing guitars and pounding rhythms. I don’t know how a person can actually sit still and listen to this CD. It is a very energetic disc that with have you headbanging, and throwing your horns in no time.
This is one of those rare cases where every song on the album rocks, and rocks hard. Some of my favorites are “All the Way” “Throw Your Horns”, and “Built For Speed”, but I truly like every song on this disc.
Year of the Cobra closes out with a rockin’ rendition of the Rainbow classic, “Long Live Rock N’ Roll”. Alx Karchevsky is no Ronnie James Dio, but the Spittin’ Cobras do the song justice with their high-octane rendition of the song.
If there is anything I would have changed about this disc, it could have used a song or two to break up the pace. I think it would have given some of the songs more impact. Nonetheless, Year of the Cobra flat out rocks. You should pay a visit to the Spittin’ Cobras myspace page and check them out. You can purchase Year of the Cobra on iTunes at this link.
