ANEW REVOLUTION will be hitting the road on the “Economic Stimulus Tour” along side Poughkeepsie New York’s SUGAR RED DRIVE. “This tour was created as a way to give back to the cities we’re playing and their local economies. We’re going into these cities and venues and literally adding jobs. Whether it be by hiring local crew or promotion outlets, or just bringing people into the venue to in turn the spend some money to see a good show and maybe buy some merch.” says bassist Frank Salvaggio.
One of the main focuses of this tour is to create at least 2 real jobs the day of the show by hiring 2 part-time workers to help with load-in, set up, and local transportation for the bands. Salvaggio continues, “We’re also showing that even a modest touring band has to do whatever it takes to survive in these tough economic times.”
ANEW REVOLUTION also plan on keeping the ticket prices at a lower than average price of just $10 as well as donating 50% of the ticket proceeds to a local, not national, charitable cause. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/anewrevolution and http://twitter.com/anewrevolution for more info. More dates will be announced soon

ANEW REVOLUTION will release their third studio record entitled “iMERICA” on May 18th, 2010 via E1 Music. Produced by Ben Schigel, a musician, record producer and vocalist from the band SWITCHED who has produced for such bands as STEMM, DROWNING POOL, WALLS OF JERICHO, CHIMAIRA & many more. A brand new song called “Head Against The Wall” is streaming via their myspace page now [www.myspace.com/anewrevolution]. The band also just finished shooting a video for the same song in Austin, TX last week with famed director David Brodsky (GOD FORBID, THE RED CHORD, ALL THAT REMAINS, KITTIE).
Formed in Austin, Texas by singer/guitarist Joey Duenas, bassist Frank Salvaggio, drummer Rob Urbani in 2004, and later rounded out by Austin-area shredder Shaun Stockton on lead guitar, ANEW REVOLUTION stand by the promise in their name. Though they’ll happily recall the milestones set by their former bands – Duenas’ Ünloco, Urbani and Salvaggio’s Slaves on Dope, they’ll also be the first to remind you of just what ANEW REVOLUTION means.
I first noticed the band The Spittin’ Cobras in 2008 when they were in the running for the Guitar Center/ Motley Crue contest in 2008. The Last Vegas ended up winning the contest (and the opening slot on the Motley Crue tour), but there were several
good bands worth checking out that made the top six. One of those bands was The Spittin’ Cobras.
Once upon a time, Seattle was once known for its long list of depressing grunge bands. It seems as of late the bands rockin’ in Seattle are back to playing kick ass rock and roll. Just check out the bands Underride and The Spittin’ Cobras. It is refreshing to hear bands from the Emerald City playing kick ass rock n’ roll again.
One listen to this band, and you might think, who the hell are these guys? This isn’t a pimple faced band starting out. The Spittin’ Cobras have members from the bands KMFDM, The Dwarves and Murdock. Needless to say, these guys have been in the music business for a while, and they know how to rock. Their music takes the energy of punk rock, the fury of Motorhead, and blends it to excellent blast of hard rock.
Year of the Cobra is the debut of these Seattle rockers, and a damn good one at that. One word best describes this CD, “relentless”. Every song on this album is heavy and fast with blazing guitars and pounding rhythms. I don’t know how a person can actually sit still and listen to this CD. It is a very energetic disc that with have you headbanging, and throwing your horns in no time.
This is one of those rare cases where every song on the album rocks, and rocks hard. Some of my favorites are “All the Way” “Throw Your Horns”, and “Built For Speed”, but I truly like every song on this disc.
Year of the Cobra closes out with a rockin’ rendition of the Rainbow classic, “Long Live Rock N’ Roll”. Alx Karchevsky is no Ronnie James Dio, but the Spittin’ Cobras do the song justice with their high-octane rendition of the song.
If there is anything I would have changed about this disc, it could have used a song or two to break up the pace. I think it would have given some of the songs more impact. Nonetheless, Year of the Cobra flat out rocks. You should pay a visit to the Spittin’ Cobras myspace page and check them out. You can purchase Year of the Cobra on iTunes at this link.
