Rush Unveils New Music; Legendary Rock Band Return With New Single “Caravan” Plus Additional Track “BU2B” From Upcoming 20th Studio Album; Both Songs to Be Performed Live on “Time Machine Tour”; “Caravan” to Be Available at All DSPs on June 1st; “CLOCKWORK ANGELS” Set for Release in 2011

Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush has announced the upcoming release of their eagerly anticipated new single. “Caravan” — which will be featured on the legendary band’s forthcoming album, “CLOCKWORK ANGELS” — will be available at all DSPs on June 1st and serviced to radio simultaneously.
“Caravan” will be bundled with an additional new album track, entitled “BU2B.” Both tracks were recorded earlier this year in Nashville with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, The Deftones), who previously collaborated with Rush on 2007′s critically acclaimed “SNAKES & ARROWS.” Rush will return to the studio to resume recording after the completion of the upcoming “Time Machine Tour,” with plans to release their 20th studio album, “CLOCKWORK ANGELS,” in 2011.
The “Time Machine Tour” will begin June 29th at Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Hard Rock Casino and then travel North America through early October (see below itinerary). The band is currently busy preparing for the tour, which include both “Caravan” and “BU2B” on each evening’s setlist alongside other Rush favorites. In addition, the band will be performing its 1981 masterpiece, “MOVING PICTURES,” in its entirety for the first time ever. Both “Caravan” and “BU2B” will also be offered as a special Limited Edition CD single, available to fans through the band’s official website as well as through various pre-sale tour packages. In related news, Zoë Vision in association with Banger Films is poised to release the band’s critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary, RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE, on DVD and Blu-ray. Set to arrive in stores everywhere on June 29th, RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE made its world premiere last April at New York City’s 9th annual Tribeca Film Festival. The film proved both a critical and popular sensation, with filmmakers Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn taking home the festival’s coveted “Heineken Audience Award.”
RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE explores the forty-year career and phenomenon behind what could be the world’s biggest cult band. The film presents a comprehensive exploration of this extraordinary power trio, from their early days in Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day. The documentary features never-before-seen archival footage as well as interviews with some of today’s most respected rock artists such as Sebastian Bach, Jack Black, Billy Corgan, Kirk Hammett, Taylor Hawkins, Trent Reznor, and Gene Simmons.
The RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE DVD/Blu-ray will feature a second disc of exclusive bonus material, including previously unseen interviews, outtakes, backstage footage, and ultra-rare live performances of such Rush favorites as “La Villa Strangiato,” “Working Man,” and “YYZ.”
In addition to its DVD/Blu-ray release, RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE will also begin theatrical engagements across the country on June 10th. For a current list of cities and theatres, please visit www.rushbeyondthelightedstage.com.
With more than 40 million records sold worldwide, Rush — Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart — is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting. The RIAA has certified Rush for the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band, topped only by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Among those 19 classic releases are 1974′s self-titled debut album, 1976′s “2112,” 1981′s “MOVING PICTURES,” 1996′s “TEST FOR ECHO,” and 2002′s “VAPOR TRAILS.”
Rush’s most recent studio collection, 2007′s “SNAKES & ARROWS,” made a triumphant debut on the Billboard 200 upon its initial release, entering the chart in the #3 spot. The album’s success marked the band’s highest chart debut since 1993, as well as their eleventh top 10 album in the U.S.
A career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature recently praised the renowned rock trio for its continuing artistic vitality, noting, “It’s true that Rush doesn’t mean today what it did in ’76 or even ’96. It may mean more.“
