Ozzy to lead Dodger Stadium crowd in Guinness World Records® attempt for the loudest scream this Friday, June 11
Grammy Award-winning rock legend OZZY OSBOURNE will lead Dodger fans in what will potentially be the Guinness World Record-holding longest and loudest scream this Friday, June 11 during the 5th inning break when the Dodgers play against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. As part of the third annual ThinkCure! Weekend at Dodger Stadium this Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12, Ozzy and his wife Sharon Osbourne, a cancer survivor, will lend their support to ThinkCure! This stadium-wide scream is also in celebration of Osbourne’s upcoming Epic Records album SCREAM, due out June 22.
During Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 7:10 p.m. fans will be prompted to save their loudest scream for the middle of the 5th inning when Ozzy Osbourne and Stuart Claxton of Guinness World Records will take the field and lead the crowd in a “Scream for a Cure.” The stadium’s scream will be measured in length and audio level in hopes of breaking the world record. Additionally, Sharon Osbourne lent her support to ThinkCure! by recording a promotional message that will air in-game and during the telethon and online.
Fans can also donate to the ThinkCure! Weekend online at http://www.dodgers.com/thinkcureweekend and http://www.thinkcure.org, by calling (866) 554-CURE or by texting CURE to 50555 to make a $10 donation through their mobile phone bill. Last year’s ThinkCure! online auction raised more than $50,000 to fund collaborative and innovative cancer research. ThinkCure! is an innovative, community-based non-profit that accelerates collaborative research to cure cancers. It was launched in July 2007 by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the McCourt family, City of Hope and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
SCREAM–OZZY’s first album in three years and 10th studio album overall–is fueled by the red hot first single, the Top Active Rock track “Let Me Hear You Scream.” Notably, the album marks the first appearance of OZZY’s new guitar player, Gus G. OZZY’s band also features bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman. Later this summer, OZZY will embark on an 18-month world tour (dates TBA) in support of SCREAM. First up is this summer’s six-city OZZFest, co-headlined by OZZY and Mötley Crue.

Plastic Head Music today confirms the launch of its North American office. The newly created American division will be headed up Paula Hogan with Edward Christie coordinating details in the company’s London office. Logistics and distribution will be handled with existing label partners Candlelight Records and EMI Label Services/Caroline Distribution..
Currently ranked England’s seventh largest distributor, Plastic Head Music carries a diverse range of music and dvd titles from over 300 record labels. Founded by Director Steve Beatty, the company’s title base exceeds 40,000 including over 6,000 exclusive clothing items and 5,000 specialist vinyl titles. The American division is set to release more than 100 titles before year’s end with more on tap for early 2011.
Located outside London, Plastic Head Music has built its reputation firmly on the results of its achievements. The company employs a dedicated staff of fifty-eight that works closely to ensure superior service and support. It’s the insistence for quality and dedication that has kept the company’s loyal partners successful for nearly two decades. American operations will be located outside Philadelphia in cooperation with label partner Candlelight Records. Candlelight co-director Edward Christie says, “having worked with Caroline and now EMI for the last ten years we have built a strong working relationship. They understand what we are about and this new operation is a very natural move for both of us. The existing relationships will allow the new company the ability to work with a much larger and more varied product base and help open up the USA to many more European labels.”
Plastic Head Director Steve Beatty comments, “I am so excited for this has been a long time coming. After nearly ten successful years working with EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution on co-owned label Candlelight Records, it feels right to launch our new North American operation. It’s a tried and tested relationship. I don’t see it as a bold step I see it as a logical step. Plastic Head’s truly worldwide distribution network has a strong partner and we have ambitions to be a mover in the North American distribution market. The USA is a massive market with European labels finding it hard to get any distribution at all let alone one with a UK and American office that talks to each other constantly exchanging information and making the right decisions to maximize our efforts. Plastic Head has made a huge step in what it can offer its European labels.”
Executive Vice President EMI Music Services North America Dominic Pandiscia adds, “”We are thrilled to forge this relationship between EMI Label Services/Caroline and Plastic Head USA. Plastic Head represents a significant number of unique labels and artists and we look forward to help drive their visibility across the market.”
Plastic Head North America will start its US release schedule beginning August 10. Planned titles include releases from 1349, Burzum, Dark Tranquility, Forbidden, Holy Terror, Meshuggah, Thin Lizzy and Vader. August 24 will bring titles from Bathory, Behemoth, Borknagar, Manowar, Sabbat, and Venom.
The blistering new track “Mission Statement,” from the upcoming album Audio Secrecy, will be available for a FREE Download on June 10th at 11am EST on StoneSour.com, for only 48 hours!
Thanks to the recent nominations in prestigious international awards (one of The Best Hard Rock/Metal Album and Song of the year in the USA Independent Music Awards, finalist in the best rock composition category in the USA International Songwriting Competition…) Eldorado got the attention of the music industry. The independent label Spectra Records contacted the band and decided to launch the new album in North America.
Both the label and the band are convinced of the positive reception the album will be having in North America and they are working on the marketing plan for its launch. Under Globe Artist Management and together with Spectra Records, they will organize the album tour presentation in North America and Canada.
In Europe, the album has been launched in May by the label Bad Reputation and after an extensive tour in Spain, Eldorado is presenting it across Europe. The first stop is in Switzerland, in the 19th edition of the Rock Oz’Arènes Festival, with bands as Status Quo, Monster Magnet, Placebo.
Bordeaux and Paris show dates are already closed and other cities will follow in the next months.
