Band’s New Album “Fever” Continues To Heat Up Rock Charts
Welsh rock sensations Bullet For My Valentine return to North America in September. In support of their latest album Fever, the four-man band will kick-off a 32-date tour on September 16 in Wichita, KS at The Cotillion. Escape the Fate, Black Tide and Drive A will open all shows.
Their third major label release, Fever, debuted at No. 1 on the Rock, Alternative and iTunes Rock charts and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart and marking Bullet For My Valentine’s highest American debut to date. Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte) produced Fever at studios in Los Angeles and Wales.
USA Today called Fever “The hot-zone of 2010 rock-metal discs,” The Associated Press praised the album’s “blistering drum attack, tight power chords and…old school-styled, soaring guitar solos” and the BBC trumpeted that “BFMV are aiming for world domination, and with Fever they may well achieve it.”
A special presale will start this Tuesday, July 27th – July 29th, and fans can log onto to www.bulletformyvalentine.com – to obtain the special code needed for the presale. General on-line sales begin July 30th.
Since BFMV emerged from Bridgend, Wales in 2005 with their first album The Poison, Bullet For My Valentine have spread their music through near-constant touring, including 2009′s Mayhem Festival in the States. The band spent most of the summer of 2010 playing European festivals and before they hit the U.S. in September they’ll head off to Australia for a national tour. Bullet For My Valentine are comprised of Matt Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Padge (lead guitar), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums).

As the world watches the events unfold of the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, bay area rock group Luxx has launched a creative campaign to help clean up the gulf.
The group has written a song, “Black Water” and made it available on ReverbNation today for download. All 100% of the net proceeds of the single’s sales will go toward helping the impacted wildlife in the gulf. Contributions will be divided between two organizations that are actively involved in the effort: the National Wildlife Federation and the Audubon Society.
“The size and scale of the gulf disaster are so large, one can feel helpless wondering about how to make a difference,” said David Szabados, spokesman and guitarist for Luxx. “But the truth of the matter is that taking action is the key. The National Wildlife Federation and Audubon Society are working tirelessly to help the creatures in need and it’s imperative that we do whatever we can to support them.”
“Black Water” is available today to download at the band’s ReverbNation Luxx store at http://www.reverbnation.com/store/index/artist_876982

THE GWAR-B-QUE RETURNS TO RICHMOND, VA AUGUST 8th
After a triumphant European tour that included appearances at the With Full Force and Dour Festivals, Antarctic rock gods GWAR have returned to their ice-bound fortress, to drink blood and begin work on their newest and most gut-crushing album yet. That’s right, right now, at the sorta halfway point of GWAR’s special two-year long 25th Anniversary Slay-a-Bration, Slave Pit Inc. and Metal Blade Records are proud to announce the title of GWAR’s new album…
“Our new album is called Bloody Pit of Horror,” said ODERUS URUNGUS, front-thing and leading female impersonator. ‘We are fully aware that there is a movie of the same title, I assure you it has nothing to do with it, save the title, which we stole from them. But you see, we’re calling it “GWAR’s Bloody Pit of Horror”, and that’s a little different, so hopefully we won’t get sued!”
The new album is reportedly “heavy as fuck”, and features songs like “Hail to Genocide”, “Storm is Coming”, and “Tick-Tits”. “That’s a song about a chick whose tits are covered in ticks…big fat gray puffy ones”, said Oderus. A full track listing and official release date is expected soon.
In other GWAR news, the Slave Pit, GWAR’s pit of slaves, located in Richmond, Va. (because of the excellent crack and large art school), is busily preparing for the re-awakening of an ancient GWAR tradition, the GWAR-B-Que! Back in the early days of GWAR, the slaves used to throw parties in the Pit in the hopes of attracting helpless women. These parties grew in size and fury as other bands and insane artists got involved…but then just stopped happening…
“Because of 9/11, man…” said Slave Pit spokesman James Nasium.
But the GWAR-B-Q is back! On August 8th, 2010, at the Bike Lot in Richmond, Va.! Check www.gwarbq.comfor full details, directions, and more.
GWAR’s new album, “GWAR’s Bloody Pit of Horror” is out this fall on Metal Blade Records. In the meantime look for GWAR back in Europe this summer, at the Bloodstock fest and more! And follow GWAR, buy GWAR merchandise, and jack-off on a picture of GWAR at…
I have to admit that I have had mixed feelings about the band Hellyeah prior to their releasing Stampede. The last album just didn’t do it for me, and I expected a lot more from Vinnie Paul & company. On Stampede, Hellyeah, sounds more like a complete band than on their debut. To my ears, everything has improved with album two. The song writing is better, the music is better, Chad Gray’s vocals are even better. As a result, Stampede is a better album! With that being said, even though Stampede is better than its predecessor, it still is not without it some issues. There are a few songs that I would consider filler, and although Gray’s vocals are better, his voice is still an acquired taste.
“Cowboy Way”, and “Hell of A Time” are pretty cool tunes. I even hear a little bit of that Pantera-like groove that I love so much.
The song “Better Man” took me by surprise. It is completely different from the first four songs on Stampede. This is a balladesque tune that was written by Chad Gray. It kind of sounds like a heavy Skynyrd tune. Hellyeah could actually have a big hit on their hands with this.
With “Polerider”, Hellyeah have created a brand new anthem that will likely take all of the strip clubs by storm. This is a pretty catchy tune!
The first time I heard “Stand or Walk Away”, I had to check the credits on the album. Chad Gray sound an awful lot like Fozzy’s Chris Jericho on this track. This is a mid tempo number that isn’t quite as heavy as some of the tracks on Stampede. It is a very good tune that is going to get a lot of airplay.
Overall, with Stampede, I see Hellyeah growing as a band. This album definitely has a lot more good material than bad. This album proves to me that this metal super group has the potential to excel past all of their previous bands, and truly make an impact on the metal scene. Stampede won’t be the album to do it, but it will certainly make a lot of folks take notice of Hellyeah for the first time.
If you are a fan of Pantera, Damageplan, Nothingface or Mudvayne, you gotta give this album a chance. You will definitely find some cool tunes to rock to!
