Accept – Blood of the Nations (2010)
Metal Glorious Metal! How much do I love thee? Thanks to Accept’s Blood of the Nations, I think I just fell in love metal all over again. Just when I thought 2010 was going to be a wash for a stellar metal disc, Blood of the Nations comes along and takes me by surprise! I must admit I was more than a little skeptical when Accept announced their new singer as Mark Tornillo. Not that I have anything against Tornillo. I like his old band T.T. Quick well enough, but Accept without Udo is a hard pill to swallow.
On Blood of the Nations, Tornillo absolutely kills it! His razor-sharp vocals are the perfect match for the superb axe slinging of Herman Frank and Wolf Hoffmann. He does an absolutely fantastic job, and shows that he can sing and scream with the best of them.
What can I say about Herman Frank and Wolf Hoffmann that hasn’t already been said. These two are the six string saviors of classic metal. They let their heavy riffs fly often on this CD, and quite frankly I couldn’t be happier. This is some of the best fretwork that I have heard in a while.
There are far too many cool moments to mention on Blood of the Nations, but in my opinion the best tracks are “Beat the Bastards”, “Teutonic Terror”, “Locked and Loaded” “Pandemic” and “Bucketful of Hate”.
I am an old school Accept fan, and I will always be a fan of Udo Dirkschneider, but Blood of the Nations is the disc that will rekindle the career of this amazing metal band. Come back album of the year? Metal album of the year? Blood of the Nations could be either one of those. This CD is highly recommend to the metalhead nation! Buy This!!

Iv’e benn listening to Accept for over 25 years. Iv’e only listened to two tracks from the new cd blood nations teutonic terror, and the abyss. I have to say Im suprised and shocked at the same time. The last cd i bought from accept was objection overruled. This is a very strong comeback!!! and Iv’e only heard 2 tracks!! I didn’t think this could be possible after all these years, especially without UDO. I can’t wait to get this new cd. “Back on the Accept Band Wagon Proudly”!!!!!!!!
You can never hope to beat ( objection over ruled ) ! i rate it the ballsiest shit, i have ever heard ! Sick ,dirty n mean .and that ingredibly over driven guitar tone of Hoffman ,,will never be beaten ! but ..blood of the nations ,,is one hell of a metal ride ,and true metal bangers ,will be singing its praises in the times to come ! a classic in its on right ,,but metal bangers .never over look, Objection over ruled ..power- ballsy metal in your face !,, slaves to metal ..Accept are the kings of balls to the walls ..die death metal n thrash n punk ..long live power and balls ..long live accept and UDO !
I am so happy to see this record getting so much love. Count me as one of the few people who wasn’t remotely skeptical when Tornillo came on board. I used to see TT Quick all the time back in the day. tornillo’s voice was always remarkably powerful. I even saw Tornillo perform as part of some cover band called big Richard, and even in that setting he was amazing. Plus, I’ve been playing TT Quick’s music for many years on my radio shows, and have heard from more than a few people that Tornillo’s singing style reminded them of Udo — long before he was even considered for Accept. Given how many crap gigs TT Quick had to play night after night, consistenly blowing away so many other bands, but never getting the recognition they deserved, I’m glad to see that one of them finally made the big time.
ACCEPT… has made their METAL return!

absolutely agree with everything you said. This is one amazing disc. The production is top notch and every song has you bobbing your head and throwing up the metal horns. Between this album and the new Black Label Society disc, metal makes its mark on 2010
