Papa Roach – Time For Annihilation….On The Record & On The Road (2010)

On August 31st, Papa Roach released the debut, Time For Annihilation…On The Record and On the Road, for their new label Eleven Seven Records.  Ironically, it was the Cruefest that featured bands on Eleven Seven’s roster where I first saw Papa Roach live.  I wasn’t a fan of the band before that show, but I definitely was afterwards!

With the new album “Time For Annihilation”, you get nine live cuts, and five new songs.  I have never been big on live albums, but I Papa Roach’s biggest songs are well represented here, including some songs off of their last effort, Metamorphosis.

The five new songs, “Burn”, “One Track Mind”, “Kick In the Teeth”, “No Matter What” and “The Enemy” are all great, and are worth the price of admission for this CD, all by themselves. They songs feel like an extension of Metamorphosis which was a pretty cool disc too. To me, the best part of the CD are the live tracks.  The live songs do a pretty good job of capturing the energy of Papa Roach live.  Their live show is what made me a fan of the band, so I am glad to have these tracks in my collection.

If you are a Papa Roach fan, Time for Annihilation…On the Record & On the Road is a disc that you will want to pick up asap!  I have been enjoying this CD, and I think you will too.

  1. Sure, over the course of time Papa Roach did change their sound… yet I’ve always dug this band. You are so correct on this album being an asap purchase. The live songs are top quality! Your lucky you saw them live too… I have to catch ‘em live down the Metal road.
