MINI-ALBUM OF STRIPPED DOWN SELECTIONS FROM THE BAND’S BREAKTHROUGH ALBUM ‘TRI-POLAR’

Australian rock trio Sick Puppies are set to release Polar Opposite, on March 1, available exclusively at WalMart and all digital retailers. The eight-song release, produced by Rock Mafia, features re-imagined tracks from their smash sophomore release Tri-Polar as well as their first hit “All the Same” from their debut album. This is Sick Puppies as never heard before!

Fans can check out a preview of the tracks from the album here:

The band’s acclaimed sophomore release, Tri-Polar, has sold more than a quarter-million copies to date and has produced three, top ten singles including the #1 Rock track “You’re Going Down,” Top Ten Modern Rock and Active Rock hit “Odd One” and current multi-format hit single “Maybe,” which is currently No. 26 on the Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 Chart, No. 9 at Hot AC and No. 6 at Modern Rock.

Starting on March 1st, the band will embark on the next leg of their tour in support of Tri-Polar, with the first eight dates playing alongside Nelly and 3OH3! on The Blizzard Music Tour. The tour opens in Brookings, SD at Swiftel Center on Tuesday, March 1st (full schedule below).

Co-founded by Shim Moore and Emma Anzai while in high school, Sick Puppies introduced themselves to the world with their “Free Hugs” video for the song “All the Same” from their debut, Dressed Up As Life. Boasting more than 63 million views on YouTube, the video was shot in a Sydney shopping mall featuring their friend Juan Mann, who held up a hand-written placard offering “Free Hugs.” In the past four years, Sick Puppies have shared stages with the likes of Nickelback, Shindeown, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, Deftones, Velvet Revolver, Chris Cornell, Flyleaf and many more.

I bought this CD today and it really is a terrific listen. These are enormous songs that are taken to unique heights by Sick Puppies. Mellow, then edgy, with vocal harmonies to applaud for! I without question, recommend “Polar Opposite” to already established fans of this band and new fans as well!
