Brian Ruedy was born July 24, 1961 in Orange County CA.
He has worked in a succession of bands thro’ the years, including most recently Bret Michaels & Brian Head Welch of KORN…Brian recently reconnected with guitarist Doug Aldrich which led to him becoming involved with Whitesnake.
“I am honored and privileged to be part of the Whitesnake Family. Its an incredible opportunity. I am excited to bring new sounds and flavors toWhitesnake. I look forward to expanding on the already great Whitesnake material.” Brian Ruedy
Brian is already immersing himself in the catalogue of Snake songs in preparation for the bands upcoming rehearsals for the “Whitesnake Forevermore World Tour 2011”
- Jon Lord of Deep Purple. “There is nothing like an overdriven Hammond B3 and his lead style is incredible. I’ve never heard anyone play like he did.”
- Rick Wakeman of Yes: “I love his ability to play multiple keyboards at once. He had amazing sounds and put on quite a show.”
- Keith Emerson of ELP: “He’s the only guy I know that played the Hammond B3 backwards and stabbed it with knives. He was also one of the guys that introduced the mini moog synthesizer.”
Whitesnake have been advised to keep all sharp cutlery away from Brian when he’s performing.
Last night, my wife and I had a date night, and went to see the movie The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey. The movie was good, but the opening of the film got me thinking about Whitesnake. The beginning of the movie opened up with the song, “Ain’t No Love In The Heart of the City”. This is an old song written by Michael Price and Dan Walsh, and first recorded by the Bobby Blue Band. It was the Bobby Blue Band version that was in the movie.
The first time I ever heard this song was the far superior Whitesnake version that was on the classic and hard to find Whitesnake EP, Snakebite.
Have you heard both versions of the song? Which one do you prefer?
Many fans all over the world have been anticipating this for years, now it comes true – Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen teamed up again, Kai joined UNISONIC!
Michael Kiske: “After so many years of abstinence I had a lot of fun doing my first live shows with Unisonic in summer 2010, so I agreed to do the short world tour with Avantasia. It was a great experience to be on stage with all those great artist, but with Kai it was something different: We instantly felt the magic again and had a lot of fun together on and off stage. We both realized that we want to be together in band again. He was interested in the open musical concept of Unisonic and finally asked me if he can join the band. I talked to my bandmates and they all felt great about it. His talent as a guitarist and songwriter is an enrichment for the bandand we are looking forward to his contribution for the music of Unisonic.”
Kai Hansen will stay a member of his band Gamma Ray and play all scheduled shows. Currently he is writing songs with the Unisonic guys for the long anticipated debut album, which is planned to be released at the end of 2011.
