OFFER FREE GIVEAWAY OF THEIR NEW TRACK
“END TO THE LIES”
FIRST MUSIC HEARD FROM THE GROUNDBREAKING BAND’S FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN EIGHT YEARS
ALBUM SET TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 2011 ON CAPITOL RECORDS
JANE’S ADDICTION yesterday (April 7) gave their fans the chance to be the first to hear music from THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST, their first new studio album in eight years.
The band’s singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins are giving away a free download of the final mix of ”End To The Lies” exclusively at their website: www.janesaddiction.com. THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST will be released this August on Capitol Records (exact date TBA).
An early, unfinished version of “End To The Lies” leaked last Wednesday (March 30) in Chile when Farrell made an appearance on the “La Ley D Rock” program on the Chilean radio station Radio Futuro, after which the song became an instant viral sensation.
JANE’S ADDICTION were in Chile as one of the headliners of the inaugural Lollapalooza Chile, which took place last weekend (April 2-3) in Santiago’s O’Higgins Park. See band photos below and this New York Times story:
For THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST, JANE’S ADDICTION are working with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol), with TV on the Radio‘s Dave Sitek on the team. Sitek, best known for his production work on TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Foals, is writing, programming, and playing bass on the album. The band, with Chris Cheney on bass, will be touring throughout 2011 (see preliminary dates below).
Forming in 1985 in L.A., JANE’S ADDICTION as been firmly embedded in the collective pop culture consciousness for 25 years now. Perry Farrell stands out as one of music’s most forward-thinking and enigmatic frontmen. Dave Navarro remains a veritable guitar god. Drummer Stephen Perkins’ tribal stomp has also influenced a generation of percussionists. The hugely influential Los Angeles-based band has sold in excess of seven million records in the U.S. alone. When lead singer Perry Farrell created the traveling Lollapalooza festival, it galvanized the alternative rock movement and brought it to a whole new level.
JANE’S ADDICTION have written the rule book for alternative music and culture through a combination of genre-defying classic songs and a cinematic live experience. Great bands break rules, but legends write their own.

“It’s going to be a great morning for a great cause. I have lived with someone who has Cystic Fibrosis and have seen first hand how horrible the effects can be. Every dollar raised goes to improve the quality of live of those suffering” Said Green
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 70,000 children and adults worldwide. In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond. The possibility of a cure is only limited by dollars. Money buys science and science buys life, hopefully one day CF will stand for “Cure Found.”
Sin City Sinners past charitable efforts have raised over $10,000 to date for various causes. In March, Manager Jason Green shaved his head to raise $3,000 to fight Child hood Cancer.
Sin City Sinners is Todd Kerns (Slash, Age of Electric) Brent Muscat (Faster Pussycat) Rob Cournoyer (Raging Slab) and Dr. Michael Ellis

If you are a fan of Thin Lizzy, then Brian Robertson is no stranger to you. This former Thin Lizzy/Motorhead guitarist has finally released his first solo album after years of being absent from the music scene. On his new album, Diamonds and Dirt, Robbo has enlisted an all-star crew to help form one hell of a good debut record. The line up for this CD is Ian Haugland (Europe) on drums, Nalley Påhlsson (Treat) on bass, Leif Sundin (MSG) on vocals and Liny Wood on background vocals. Many of the songs on Diamonds and Dirt were written by Brian Robertson, the late great Phillip Lynott, plus you get three cool Frankie Miller cover tunes. What this means is, on Diamonds and Dirt you get 100 % quality music all the way through.
Brian Robertson’s guitar work shines all the way through this CD. Hearing him play again after all of these years, makes me wonder where he has been hiding. Robbo’s style of playing reminds me of a cross between Stevie Ray Vaughn and Peter Frampton. He is one hell of a talented player. Diamonds and Dirt ought to put him back in the spotlight.
The music on this CD is a blend of classic rock, blues and AOR. It isn’t a perfect outing, but it is one entertaining listen. The songs on this CD came from Robertson’s unreleased compositions, so I am sure that a lot of the material is fairly old, however that doesn’t make it bad. Some of the songs remind me of a blend of Bad Company, Foreigner and of course, Thin Lizzy. If Diamonds and Dirt was released sooner, who knows what kind of impact it could have had on the music scene.
I am glad Robbo finally let this music see the light of day. Hopefully, he won’t wait a long time before Robbo blesses us with another set of tunes. Until he does, I will be enjoying Diamonds and Dirt. Check it out!
