Emphatic – Damage (2011)
Omaha, Nebraska may be better known for its wild weather than its rock and roll bands, but Emphatic may change that soon.
I usually hear new music before I see a band live, but in the case of Emphatic, I saw their live show, and was so impressed that I purchased a pre-release copy of their debut CD, Damage after their show.
The song writing style of Emphatic kind of has a hair metal flair in my opinion. You can relate to the songs, and they are instantly catchy. I have listened to Damage several times, and I couldn’t find one bad tune on the CD.
The opening song “Do I” kind of has a Disturbed like vibe to it, but with a more upbeat approach. It is a great tune, and one that will have you singing along in no time.
“Get Paid” is absolutely infectious. This song may not find its way to radio due to the language, and that is a real shame. It is one of the best tunes on Damage.
Changes are you have seen the video or listened to the song “Bounce”. If not, you can check it out in the video below. With “Bounce” Emphatic has their first anthem. This song is a real crowd pleaser live, and it gaining momentum on the radio.
“Pride” has the potential to be a monster hit for Emphatic. This ought to be the second single from the CD in my opinion.
Damage is easily the best modern rock CD I have heard in 2011. Damage will be released on July 12th, 2011. Don’t miss out on this excellent CD!

Wow, marvelous blog structure! How lengthy have you been running a blog for? you made running a blog glance easy. The full glance of your site is great, as well as the content!
This album is processed crap. Nothing more nothing less. It sounds like a bunch of songs already on the radio got re wrote by a different band. I am from Omaha and they lost all the things that made them original. But I guess thats what happens when you get signed and only care about making money and not really giving a crap about making GOOD music.
Damage is a great album and ther is no reason for negativity, if u don’t like them then just move on. There are many different varieties of songs for everyone, just watch them grow! Rock On!!
I myself was from Nebraska and I enjoyed their music before they got signed. unlike this epic failure to life Richard, I very much love their new stuff. I’ve read peoples reviews they aren’t the same. sorry but just because one person was a total douche and split its not their fault. carry on and live your dream the fucking fun doesn’t stop because one wants out. its very original stuff I do agree, they worked their ass off too and deserve better than they are given by others. your not their true fan if you think they sold out. cookie cutter shit Wtf. listen to better music. black tide fucking sucks. how do you like that shit that band won’t be holding together long anyway.
Sorry, this is ‘damage’ alright…it’s damaging to people who like music that doesn’t sound like it got squeezed out of a computer. I’ve seen a ton of unsigned bands here in Florida and they’d play rings around this Three Days Grace wannabe. Bargain bin, here comes Emphatic!
This band is no more a band than the Monkees. Every clip I’ve heard is full of cliche lyrics and the guitar work is average at best. Had the unfortunate luck to see them in Pensacola and I’d swear they used backing tracks! Bounce is a rehash of Aldo Nova’s Fantasy with lowest common denominator words, there’s nothing new here to see, just move along. Cookie cutter crap, let a real band like Black Tide or Nonpoint move you musically instead of this junk!
What are you talking about? These guys are the genuine article. It’s people like you that don’t have a clue that try to ruin things because you yourself want to show off, by being an idiot. Go back and crawl under a rock. This is all original songs, and nothing is a copy. You are cookie cutter crap, and I’ve heard Black Tide, and they do not compare to Emphatic. Black Tide has no complicated music at all, just common musicians, so if that is your taste, then go be a maggot somewhere else, cuz you know nothing about music. You just don’t know talent.
They don’t use backing tracks. I work for them and was in Pensacola when you saw them. That’s all Patrick, Lance and Justin’s real voices on stage. But apparently they must not be too bad if you think that they were using a recording…
TOTALLY AWESOME VIDEO & AWESOME SONG…LOVE TO DANCE TO THIS SONG…. WOO HOO… OH YEAH…. ROCK ON!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING…. KEEP ALL OF US FANS ROCKIN’ & ROLLIN’ THROUGH LIFE… & WHAT A RIDE.. WOW WEEEEEEEEEEE
